3 Mischief

1990 October

It was the following morning, thus the googling two girls whispering just outside the doors, the final preparations. "And we'll do it quickly. You distract them, I'll pour the liquid."  Mage was nearly bouncing up and down, purely by excitement."Are you sure?" Anyone, just by eavesdropping, could figure Elena was terrified. She had never caused trouble, not even whispering in class, rules where made to be followed. On the other hand, Mage had a different life motto; rules were made to be broken.

Elena face grew paler by the second, her throat closing in and eyes watering. "His head will grow just a tad."  Mage had no sight of worry in her eyes, that she never had. "What should I say? I can't just make it up." Elena's Hans were awfully clammy, she tried drying them on her cloak - it unfortunately only worsened.

Elena felt her legs tremble, perhaps she was just gonna let herself collapse, dread was devouring Elena from toe to head. Mage swing with the potion in her hands, curiously eyeing it. "Just think of something." Mage gripped Elena's sleeve, entering the great hall with daring steps onwards. "I'm not a good.." Steps were taken, closing in on the Hufflepuff table, and the closer they got to a certain golden boy.

Mage,in hushed and muffled voice, reassured her favourite roommate. "You are exceptional at thinking, my sweet Elena."  She might have been, an exceptional thinker, but not at all occasions.

Mage swung with her nonexistent hips with a broad smile and placed herself just behind Cedric. "Oh, hello, boys." The confidence radiated from her every breath, it certainly drew attention, even though two eyes were fastened on somebody else. "Hiya!" Luke exclaimed, a bit too thrilled, and deep exhales of relief when he noticed no Valerie was present. "How are you doing this fine Morning?" Gareth, another hufflepuff boy, toothy grinned, sincerely asked.

Mage made a sign, casting a glance behind her shoulder and met Elena's brown pools. "Blimey! Is that Professor McGonagall and Hagrid snogging." Elena exclaimed, pointing at the entrance of the hall, and a lot more than just the boys turned their heads. Quickly Mage poured it into Cedric's cup, swiftly returning to Elena's side.

"Long time no see, boys." Ans they were off, quickly walking down the aisle to meeting their roommates. "That was brilliant." Elena giggled and sneaked a glance, grinning at the idea of Cedric's head growing abnormally large. "Just wait and see if he falls for it. He would never ever fancy me again." One one had ever seen Mage this satisfied with her mouth already filled with breakfast.

Valerie smirked, entertained by how both of the pranksters seemed gleeful."That's great for your character, Elena." Elena locked eyes with Valerie, rising her dark brows at her comment. They peacefully enjoyed their breakfast; Mage gloating about her new broom, Lucy listening without interfering, Elena laughing along Mage's silly jokes and Valerie smirking as usually. Then Lucy, opened her small lips and whispered weakly. "He is looking at you." Lucy's large, doe eyes bulged and felt the prickling feeling of unwanted attention on her skin.

"Darn it." Mage cursed, slamming her fits on the table - assuming it was her. Cedric Diggory as indeed gazing at their direction but Mage wasn't the target. Valerie were crocking her neck to catch Cedric's glance, suddenly realising it's target and smirking immediately.

Elena wasn't noticing the gaze piercing her skin, wandering across her face and hair. The Gryffindor table was as loud as ever, the chivalrous and courageous lions roaring before even the earliest birds chirp. Two particular Gryffindors rose, the red heads walking wide by side as if they were glued together. "I have to go." Elena abruptly said, rising and bid goodbyes to her wonderful friends.

Mage protested with her fork in the air, waving around with a piece of freshly cooked bacon." You haven't even tasted the bacon yet!" She hollered, vehemently waggled the bacon. "I'll just ask the house elves later." The last words Elena said before hurrying down the aisle, passing by Cedric. He hadn't touched his cup, yet, intrigued by Elena, as if he was enchanted.

He didn't knew her name, yet, but he felt drawn to know more. When he turned his head, loosing her, he took the cup, swallowing the hot chocolate without hesitation.

Elena and Mage walked along the hall, they were both unamused by the next class."Potions, Elena, we cant be late." Mage bounced up, a sour expression on her pale face - Snape was everyone's least favourite professor, even the Slytherins couldn't protest. "We are actually early, for once." The door to the potion class was just a breath away, it's door open wide.

Professor Snape was already glaring at girls, even though they were on time. He stood, terrorising the Hufflepuffs with his dark eyes, disappointment still evident in his blank face. Swiftly, Mage and Elena sat down without sharing a glance. "Since some students can't take their hands of each other or would rather chat the whole lesson, I've decided to switch some partners." Mage grunted in protest, but she had no say in the matter at all. "I have no time for useless questions." Mage stopped her hand, a sour expression haunting the usually gleeful.

Elena held her breath, she knew Mage had a problem with not start rambling, but her wishes was heard by deaf ears. "Mage Dealaus, please switch with Luke Wally." The black haired witch watched the mercilessly Snape smirk, in shame she rose and switched seats with Luke. Her eyes bulged when she saw the empty seat, where the partner should be, Mage was hopeless with potions even with Elena - let alone on her own.

Luke, strutted onwards and sank down beside Elena. "Hi, m'lady." Luke couldn't help himself, he had the urge to act flirty with anyone deemed worthy."Hello, Luke."  Elena whispered, quite harsh might anyone within earshot add; happily ending the conversation before he starts proposing anything. "Don't be such a buzzkill, my darling." He smiled broadly, showing of perfect, white teeth.

"No chit chat, Wally." Luke Wally shut finally up before he would've been given detention - even though Elena would've really enjoyed that. Both Luke and Elena knew Snape loved deduct points, especially from badgers and lions.
