The Carios Kingdom is located exactly at the middle of the continent. It is surrounded by trees so it takes effort to find the kingdom, anyone who successfully find their way through the woods truly can be deemed astounding. For most folks, who doesn't live in this kingdom, believe that Carios is a chuffed (joyous) kingdom however, for those who resides in the place claimed the opposite.
The fact that Carios is secluded explains why outsiders think that the kingdom is the same as any other place, after all, every kingdom should be in peace and united, although none od them really heard about Carios' ruler so they assumed that their King is a fair and righteous ruler, at least that's what they thought.
In reality, Carios is the opposite of what many people described about it. True, the kingdom is beautiful itself but Carians (Carios' people) cannot say the same about their ruler's attitude.
The King, Tarion, didn't experience a pleasant childhood. He was always secluded by his father, the former King of Carios, inside the palace forcing him to take royal lessons for he is the future King of the land.
Tarion was a very rebellious child so it is no wonder that his father was harsh and strict to him. Skipping his lessons, escaping royal meetings, messing around in the hallways and what any other normal children would do. Truly, that is not how a royal figure should act so his father ordered the palace guards to keep an eye on the young prince and if he, in the tiniest bit, misbehaves, he shall receive punishment for doing so.
The prince was then taken to his room, locked up. He was given no food to eat, no servant to answer to his requests. He has no one to turn to except for his mother, the Queen.
Tarion's mother is nothing like his father. The King and Queen have nothing in common to say the least.
His mother is more considerate and is very kind in contrast to his father. The people loved their Queen, as much as the young boy.
His mother would often sneak inside his room to bring him food and talk to her dear son. They would play catch, hide and seek, hang out and such without the King's knowledge. So when the King found out about this, he was obviously furious.
That night, Tarion watched as his father harshly gripped his mother's hair and yelled atrocious words at her. The little boy didn't know what to do. His mother signalled for him to stay out of it and flashed him a smile, her face once beautiful and lovely was filled with bruises and wounds as she was beaten up by her husband. She did nothing about it, it was like this every time she disobeyed the King and she made sure her son wouldn't know about it. Now, in front of her child, she was punched and abused. That thought pains her more than the beatings.
Tarion was frozen in place, his vision was blurry while his eyes are tearing up from the sight before him. He knew his father was a monster but he never thought he would do this to his mother.
His eyes widened when his father grabbed a knife from his pocket and stabbed the Queen in her abdomen. Then, the King dropped her dead body to the floor.
At that moment, he knew what he has to do.
He quickly rushed to his father's side and stole knife from his grip. Before the King could even react, he felt a stinging pain on his chest. The knife was already impaled right through him. He coughed up blood before he fell down on the floor, dead.
The future King stood there looking at his parents' dead bodies but mostly at his father's corpse. He stepped on it, kicked on it multiple times. But who is he kidding? The corpse doesn't feel anything by now and regretted that he gave him a quick death, he deserves worse.
So he decided to pretend that his parents' were murdered by some rogue and that he was lucky that he escaped.
And he did just that, he cried in 'sadness' that his parents' are gone in front of the royal servants and guards. Given that Tarion is a very talented child, he acted it perfectly.
Years later, at the age of 17, he was crowned King of Carios.
But it seems that he took after his father, the late King.
Even worse than him.
He's cruel. A tyrant. A monster. Manipulative.
If you think about betraying or displeasing him, he would kill you on the spot.
Disobey him and you will never see the sun set.
The poor get neglected while the rich are accepted.
If you have nothing to show off then get out of his sight.
