Linsy's POV
That sick bastard! I want to strangle him this instant. If only there were no guards around here.
What makes him think that everyone are obliged to obey him if he isn't very pleasant to be around? He only loves himself, that I can assure you. A narcissistic bastard.
The guards opened the door to a very luxurious room. I found myself gaping at the sight. A king-size bed in the middle, a double door which leads to its own bathroom and a walk-in closet beside it. It could be a room fit for a royal.
I shake my head. Stop Linsy, you're not supposed to be gaping at these things.
That's right, I should worry about myself more. I have to get of this place as soon as possible.
Suddenly, someone knocks at the door.
"Who's there?" I asked warily.
A feminine voice answered, "His Majesty sent us here to prepare you for the wedding, my lady."
I opened it and two girls entered the room. The other has short auburn hair and brown eyes, another one is rather tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. Both of them seemed to be nice, they shot me a smile and approached me.
"Good evening, my lady" the short haired girl greeted me while the other gave me a curtsy.
I shake my head, "No need to be so formal. I am an ordinary girl."
The blonde chuckled, "But the King seems to be head over heels for you when no other girl has taken his interest and that is impressive, my lady."
"I don't see why though" It's true. I really don't understand. Just because I knocked his soldiers out doesn't mean I am worthy of being a queen.
The two girls lead me in front of the mirror and asked me to sit down. The auburn haired girl proceeds in doing my hair. The blonde prepares my dress.
"May I ask your names?"
The blonde girl is the first one to answer, "My name is Marilyn."
"Mine is Flora. What is yours, my lady?" She gently brushed my hair as though it is the most fragile thing in the world, almost like my mother.
"My name is Linsy and I want you to call me that. I am not used to honorifics" The two nodded and continue their jobs.
"If you don't mind me asking, is the King kind at times?" I want to know if he can be soft-hearted.
"Yes when he is in a good mood" Marilyn washes my arms with a clean wet cloth. The cold made me shiver a little.
"The problem is that, most of the time, he is in a bad mood so it is very rare" Flora voiced, neatly pinning my hair into a beautiful bun adorned with flowers. I muttered a 'thanks' to her, "You're welcome" she said as a reply. She cleaned her things up and Marilyn carries the dress towards me.
"It's time for you to wear a wedding gown, Linsy" she said it with too much enthusiasm.
"I'm not too excited, really. Especially if that dress has something to do with my doom" Marilyn shakes her head and told me to be optimistic and that the King is not that bad. It went on as they dress me up with me having a blank expression the whole time, hoping that what they are talking about is true.
Marilyn straightens her skirt and stood up, "All done. You are so gorgeous."
"Yeah, I say we did a very good job!" Flora claps her hands in joy and holds my hands, "The King will love you even more" and with that, they bowed and left.
I am near to my despair.
