It was freezing cold in the metal floors of the Star Destroyer, but your body was warmer than Jakku's sand.

Your body had finally forced itself to sleep, despite your best efforts to desperately stay awake. You knew it was incredibly dangerous to fall asleep after a concussion, and you were almost certain that you had endured one after what Kylo Ren did to you.

So your limp body lied on the floor, curled up like a child. You were very used to sleeping on uncomfortable surfaces, so this felt like home to you. And for hours, your body drifted off into a wonderful slumber, your mind free from the torment you had endured in being awake. You desperately wanted to escape the memory of Kylo Ren, but he even infested your dreams. Ever since you heard his voice that first time, you couldn't stop thinking about it. Just the thought of his deep, menacing tone sent a trail of shivers down your spine. The way he spoke to you as if you were a peasant made you want to scream and cry at the same time. It was a rollercoaster of emotions.

But still, your sleep was peaceful regardless of the fact that it was plagued with nightmares. Finally being able to sleep after days of starvation and dehydration was a blessing. So you took it gratefully.

And Kylo Ren was there when you woke up.

You knew it almost immediately. You could feel the tension in the air when your eyes finally began to flutter open. It felt so tense, and it made you even more uncomfortable when you began to wonder how long he had been sitting there.

"How long have you been watching me?" You asked, swiftly regaining your posture and turning to face Kylo Ren, who was knelt beside your cell on the opposite sides of the bars.

"Long enough." He returned, and you realized he was dressed differently. His face even seemed different. Although you had seen him a few times, you never had the chance to truly study his features and remember what he looked like. It wasn't a skill you had developed over years of not being close with anybody.

His eyes seemed tired, and the brownness in them was glossy and wet. Beneath them, there was a set of blue bags that enforced the idea of insomnia. And the scar you left him remained; slowly healing but still very irritated and deep.

"Why." You asserted. Why hadn't he begun his torture yet? Why hadn't he began questioning you about why you killed Snoke? Why hadn't he killed you yet? Why did he speak to you so nonchalant just hours after giving you a concussion?

He looked away now, staring down at the floor for a quick moment. There was a long hull of silence. Kylo Ren refused to look at you, and you couldn't keep your eyes off him. He was so bipolar and unpredictable; you couldn't trust him to control his temper for even a minute second. Emotions ran high; and you almost felt as if you could feel his own heartbeat beating in your ears. A passionate hatred was certainly a peculiar connection. You knew he not only despised you, but everything you stood for. And you to him.

"I'm going to let you live," he finally asserted, looking up at you. And even through your helmet, you felt naked before him. The way he looked at you made it feel like you were glass; completely surrendered and so simple to look through. Kylo Ren never directly answered your question. He simply changed the subject. You didn't question it.

"Why," you repeated, feeling a shiver down your spine once again.

"You're more valuable than I thought you were," he returned, almost dreading the words.

You almost laughed, but you stifled it to a chuckle as you leaned forward to the bars that separated the two of you. "Of course I am" you asserted, being coy. "But I never thought you'd admit it."
