"Fett." You could hear Kylo Ren's staticky voice as he spoke to you through the little microphone in your door. He had knocked a moment before, but he felt the need to give you a few extra moments to compose yourself before just barging in.
Luckily for you, you had just finished putting on the last pieces of your armor before you heard his knock. After he spoke to you, you slipped on your bulky helmet and headed for the door. Just before you were able to open it, however, it slid open before you and Kylo Ren was waiting on the other side.
"Don't just open that door." You said quickly. "What if I didn't have my helmet on?"
"But you do." He returned, and stepped into your quarters as the door slid shut behind him. You crossed your arms in front of you as Kylo Ren stood before you, his eyes seeming restless once again. The blue bags made it perfectly clear that he had not slept that night. "We have important matters to discuss." He said simply, and you could feel your skin crawl.
Even after the several weeks you had spent alongside Kylo Ren as you accompanied him through training and other ambitious endeavors, the thought of forming an actual friendship with him made your skin crawl. After all, you still considered him an enemy.
"What about?" You questioned, clueless.
"You've been keeping something from me." He proclaimed, and searched through the black lens of your helmet for something to cling onto. He saw nothing, but you had a clear view into his tired brown eyes.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about." You answered truthfully and uncrossed your arms, taking a seat on one of the two black glossy chairs in your quarters. Kylo Ren took the other. "I've told you everything I know."
"We both know that's a lie." He returned, almost in a coarse whisper. You furrowed your eyebrows, genuinely curious about what he could be going on about. "I thought I could trust you."
"We both know that's a lie." You snapped. You didn't want any part of Kylo Ren's toxic manipulative game where he pretended to form some kind of relationship with you just to drain you of everything you had. Regardless of his petty reaction, you would not be treated like a rag doll. You were a Fett. And you intended on acting like one.
"Is that so?" Kylo Ren looked you up and down, from head to toe, yearning to find some proof of humanity throughout your armor. There was no possible way that you could be less humane than him. Nobody was as cold blooded and ruthless as Kylo Ren! At least, that's what he forced himself to believe. "You can't deny the certain moments we've spent together, Fett." He said simply, almost in a whisper as his eyes stayed glued to the floor before you. "When you were vulnerable."
"Vulnerable." You scoffed. "I made the mistake of having a conversation with you." You leaned in slightly, making sure you were able to see directly into Kylo Ren's eyes as you destroyed any prospect of friendship. "Remember, Ren. You need me."
"It's actually the exact opposite. You said it yourself"
"Don't put words in my mouth."
"But you did." Now he grew more eager. "That night. In my quarters." His eyebrows furrowed as he recalled the memories of that night. "When you told me you needed a teacher."
"I never said that. You offered it to me."
"You didn't have to." Kylo Ren returned. "I could tell by the way you explained your feelings." He stood up and made his way over to your seat, and you bursted up to meet him. "The void you feel inside of you. That missing piece. I told you I can teach you how to use it." He was inches away now, peering down at you.
"You don't know the first thing about me." You hissed, making sure you had a full view of his pretty brown eyes when you told him he meant absolutely nothing to you and you could be better off without him. He stared back at you as if he could see your eyes, but you knew he couldn't.
"I know you better than you know yourself." Kylo Ren insisted.
"If you did, you would know that I don't need your help." You argued "I'm here because you have a valuable skill set that might come in handy to me one day. After I get what I want, I'm outta here."
"Is that so?" Kylo Ren questioned, almost in a whisper. "Then why haven't you left yet? I have yet to teach you anything."
"Exactly." You said "so pick up the pace. I could be on Canto Bight right now, doing my job and living my best life."
"But instead, you're here." Kylo Ren concluded. "You can't fool me, Fett. I know how you really feel about this. the First Order, the ways of the Force" he detailed, and stopped for a moment. "Me." He finished.
"How could you know anything about the way I feel?" You asked, almost offended by his prude and unfiltered response. Who did he think he was?
"Because I feel it too" Kylo Ren said.
For a moment, you thought you might throw up. You felt like you had those many weeks ago when Kylo Ren had given you a concussion and you slept on the cold floors of a cell somewhere in the Supremacy. The feeling was simply disgust. You were disgusted by the way Kylo Ren manipulated his powers to take advantage of you and get inside your head. You were disgusted by the way he was so upfront and unfiltered about everything he said. You were, most of all, disgusted by the way he could say the simplest phrase to compare himself to you and you could feel yourself beginning to relate and commiserate with the man.
"We are not the same." You said, and you could tell that your voice was shaky with the amount of anger and emotion running through you. "You were practically born to royalty and you threw it all away for some dusty robes and a busted lightsaber." You spat, watching as Kylo Ren's expressionless face continued to state down at you. "Everything I have, I built. My armor is crafted from the blood of the Guild. Everything was given to you." You scoffed, a feeling of anger building up in your chest.
"Is that what you think?" Kylo Ren returned, not losing his sight on you. He didn't seem offended or phased. In fact, he seemed almost relieved that you had admitted it.
"That's what I know."
"You're mistaken.""Am I?" You asked rhetorically, but he did not answer. Instead he continued to stare at you, struggling to understand you and your bipolar emotions. After all, Kylo Ren was under the impression that you and him had begun to craft a special connection through the Force, whether you liked to admit it or not. Every day he could feel the bond strengthening. But now, as your hatred and jealousy burned through you, he felt that bond begin to weaken. He knew that anger and fighting would not resolve this. He recognized that the bond was precious, and something to be cherished. So instead, Kylo Ren did his best to keep calm.
"Come with me." Kylo Ren said simply, and turned to leave.
You were astonished. That's it? That's all he had to say? No defending himself, no recognition, no response or rebuttals? You were in a state of shock."To where?!" You asked, curious as to where he expected you to resolve this issue.
"To Chandrilla."
