Ellie: HAPPY FRIENDAVERSARY!!!

As usual, Ellie was the first to congratulate. Mostly because Cassie hadn't even woken up yet. It was difficult for them to find a moment when they were both free to talk since Ellie had gotten her phone limitations. She could only use it in the morning and evening. On the other hand, Cassie liked to sleep in , so they mostly talked before Ellie went to bed. The strict restriction took an apparent toll on Ellie, who c6ouldn't imagine her day without her best friend anymore, and needed to occupy herself in order to drain out her frusterations at these, to her, meaningless limitations. Cassidy, on the other hand, hadn't been quite as fazed. Her days did seem a bit more tedious and prolongued, but she she didn't mind as much. Of course, she was annoyed at the obscure punishment, but she was used to the silence.

Ellie had passed the time that day by working on a cute little sketch for Cas. It was a 'portrait', or rather, a free hand, pencil on paper drawing of Cassie next to her favourite band. Ellie knew how important music was to her friend, and that significance, that overwhelming need for something to draw the dismantled pieces of your life somewhat together, was rubbing off on herself as well. During the rest of the day, no other particular productive activity was rendered as Ellie continued her steady everyday routine of doing nothing.

After a transparent curtain of dim, dark, gradient blue-to orange-to purple shades had finally etched across the midsummer sky; and the old, wooden rectangle clock in the living room struck 7, Ellie's restriction was revoked. She sprinted to her room, clutching her phone in her right hand victoriously and jumped onto the old, antique bed in her bedroom. The matress beneath her greeted this sudden gesture with a couple of disapproving shreeks, as the wooden frame shifted under her weight ever so slightly, resulting in an additional creak.

July 3rd
Dear diary,

Today was, as Ellie says, four months of our friendship. She really put a lot of effort into assembling my gift. I was thrilled, it was so cute. I, on the other hand, am not as resilient when it comes to creating ideas for gifts, but I did my best to instigate a gesture to accentuate to Ellie that she really does mean a lot to me.

In other news, she told me about some boy that seems to like her. I guess that's what happens to beautiful girls, huh? That's why it'll never happen to me.

Cassie xx
