Millie and Finn's family were having dinner together it was new year and yet the browns still had their Christmas decorations hung up, well most of them.
It was officially the new year and of course the Brown's had invited the Wolfhard's over for dinner. Millie made sure to invite Sadie since she didn't want her and Finn to be the only teens in the room. Sadie would help calm her down if Finn began to annoy and irritate her.
No matter how long their parents have been friends Finn and Millie still can't stop hating each other.
"Millie, can you go get the dessert" said her mother as she noticed her and Finn glaring at each other.
"Of course" she said before standing up and making her way to the kitchen.
"Get out of my way"
"Your mom told me to help you." he says standing a couple of feet in front of her?
"I don't need your help i'm capable of carrying the cake" she walks away tripping on something causing her to drop the cake.
"You idiot you tripped me on purpose"
"So what"
Before she was able to tackle him Sadie came. She saw the cake on the floor obviously knowing that Finn did something for her to drop it.
"There's another cake" Sadie says grabbing it "I'm taking this cake" before exiting the kitchen door way, she looks at them "Oh and don't look up you'll regret it."
Of course both of them looked up seeing a hanging mistletoe she cursed under her breath for not taking down the Christmas decorations herself.
"So are you two going to kiss" said Sadie as she entered the kitchen once again but this time it was to get a knife to cut the cake.
"No" both of them said at the same time
"A mistletoe is a mistletoe meaning you have to" she left them standing there awkwardly.
"What are you doing?" she asks as he moves closer to her basically standing in front of her with not much space between them.
He begins leaning in and Millie doesn't know if she should stop him or not. When his lips were about to touch hers she moved her head so it would touch her cheek. He stepped back allowing Millie to exit the kitchen.
Once she sat back down at the table Sadie noticed her pink tinted cheeks making her think that they actually kissed. Minutes later Finn came back to the table and sat down eating his slice of cake.
It was awkward between obviously due to the fact that Finn was actually going to kiss her. Millie volunteered to clean up afterwards because she knew that if she didn't her mom would have made her talk or hang out with Finn and she did not want to be alone with him.
She was cleaning the dishes when Finn entered the kitchen with some dirty plates that she had left behind.
He clears his throat "I'm sorry"
"It's fine, you don't have to be sorry" she says as she continues to clean the dishes.
She sighs before turning off the water and drying her hands. She faces him looking him straight into the eye. She's not sure if she should actually do it. She takes a deep breath before taking 2 steps towards him so she is standing right in front of him.
"What are you-" he doesn't get to finish due to her lips touching his. She places her hand on his cheek while his goes to her waist. The kiss lasted 3 seconds before they pulled apart. She softly smiles dropping her hand back to her side. She steps back leaning against the sink counter.
They both stay silent trying to comprehend what happened.
"So that just happened"
"Yeah."
"Do you want to go to the basement?" she had a couple of games downstairs and a movie theater.
As she opened the basement door she was stopped by Sadie who popped out of no where.
"There's another mistletoe" she says smiling widely before walking away.
Millie is taken aback as Finn kisses her making her back hit the doorway frame. His hands cup her face and his lips are pushed on hers, they move in sync. He pulls away breathing hard as Millie is as well. Her eyes are close letting the feeling and the thought of his lips on her linger in her mind.
She grabs his hand as she walks down the stairs turning on the lights. They sit on the couch no space between them still having their hands intertwined.
"So what do you want to do?" she asks. She already had something in mind but it wasn't a very nice idea.
"How about this?" he begins moving closer letting his lips be on hers for the third time. She pulls away smiling
"I was thinking the same thing" she then places her lips back on his. That night those short kisses turned into a make out session and soon it ended up going further.
In the end Finn and Millie got over their hate phase and became boyfriend and girlfriend.
