Remi, Soobin and all their other friends were sitting in uncomfortable chairs, surrounded by hundreds of other students, in the middle of a school assembly.

They hated assemblies, but Remi had a good reason to hate this one more than the average boring assembly.

A really good reason.

"I expect that this year, you all welcome our new staff members and treat them with the same respect that you do myself," announces the school principal, performing her speech form the amphitheater stage, "Almost every year level will have one new teacher on their schedule."

"I wonder how long it'll take us to push out the new recruits," whispers an immature boy from the seventh grade, to his surrounding mates. They all respond in laughter, at his stupid comment.

The principal doesn't care for his behaviour, because she'd been dealing with it for years.

"Thank you, Ryan. Pay me a visit after this."

His buddies 'ooh' and 'aah' while pushing and shoving him, while he crosses his arms spitefully and looks down to his feet.

"Moving on," she sighs, but then smiles, as a new type of joy comes into her mind, "Now we're going to discuss something special. An annual service for our year 12 students."

Some students didn't know what she was talking about, but Remi did.

She knew too well.

"Our exchange program!"

A few extroverted students from around the giant hall cheer out excited words, which only makes Remi more nervous.

The principle looks around the huge room, her eyes narrowed, as she searched for one student in particular.

"As you know, one of our trusted sister-schools likes to swap students with us every year, giving each the option to study abroad for 12 continuous months. This year, we only had one student sign up, which is perfectly fine," she points one arm someone just off stage, "So, please welcome, Mister Junseok to our school environment with a kind applause!"

Then, a short boy comes skidding out from behind the curtain. He was obviously Korean, and rather good-looking, to be frank. But Remi didn't look twice at it, as much as Soobin did. He was also extremely nervous, as expected from anyone after being the topic of conversion in front of hundreds of strangers.

As soon as he revealed himself, the whole hall broken into an outrageous roar of applause, with some students shouting encouraging words to the boy.

Remi caught a flustered smile under his long black hair, and it made her smile.

He's kind of cute, she thought to herself, for an asian.

Soobin, however, didn't have such a dull reaction. She was squirming around excitedly in her seat, overwhelmed with ghastly thoughts about what would go down between herself and the cute new exchange student over the next few months. She surprised herself, with now shrewd her thoughts had quickly become.
