It was just after recess, Remi had parted ways with the other girls, and was minding her business walking through the halls alone, because she didn't have a class to rush to. She actually had a free period, and was planning on going to the rooftop to enjoy some strawberry milk.
All day Remi had been distracted and empty-minded. She couldn't shake the unease, the fear that had somehow corrupted her.
She wasn't used to feeling that way. She hated it.
She was constantly looking over her shoulder, zoning out while Sydney and Bora try to get her attention.
They were concerned, but didn't know how to respond. They assumed she was just tired and couldn't focus. They definitely didn't have an suspicions that she was being stalked, or terrified for her life.
Anyway, in a pitiful attempt to distract herself from the goosebumps over her body, she decided to listen to some music. Music had always been that reliable source that would always save her day. It would express her exact mood and agree with her all the time.
Music never let her down.
She pulled her earphones under her sweater that she wore over the uniform to keep her warm, and borrowed her hands deep in her pockets after she picked a playlist.
Her eyes followed the polished white floor as she hummed to the beat of the glorious new song she was playing.
The day was chilly, air nippy and wind fighting. If Remi didn't have her lips tucked safely into her turtleneck collar, then they might've just frozen off. Every breath was visible, and every goosebump was like a small mountain on her legs or arms.
Her cheeks were pink and looked squishy, as they puffed out around her collar, and her face was angled down.
For a moment, she was happy to bask in blissful ignorance, and not worry about turning around.
Her feet kicked the floor in boredom, as she cruised through the empty halls of Floor B. It was rare and very lucky to receive a free period after lunch break, because it seems like a super long lunch break. But it wasn't as fun without her friends there, anyway.
She contemplated just going for a calm drive somewhere to waste all the free time she had now.
But, a new song came into the earbuds.
Over the past few days, Remi had been listening to her new friends' music, expressing interest in their hobbies and occupations, because she really did care. Some of the songs that had been created and released by her new friends, Bangtan, were so quickly special, showing Remi emotions that she had never experienced before.
A newfound wonder was introduced into her life once she started listening to BTS.
She felt so proud as one of their songs came on, and she could pick their distinct voices, their touching, honest lyrics and beautiful melodies. Remi always had high expectations and standards when it came to music, but their music somehow passed all the tests in just a few days.
