"Knock knock knock" the quietest knock on the door shook my out of my thoughts. They were so quiet it was almost like they person didn't want to be heard.
When I opened the door, I was surprised, even though I shouldn't have been.
"I couldn't sleep" he announced, as if he were justifying his actions.
He was shirtless, as expected. His signature move that always managed to make me nervous. I should be used to it by now. I suddenly realized how little I was wearing and how you could probably see a lot more than I would like.
"Is your room this hot?" I asked.
"No, it's actually cold, I need to keep warm." He added.
"Maybe put on a shirt?" I laughed.
"Then how else would I tease you?" His tone was playful but I knew he meant it.
"What are you talking about?" I decided to play dumb.
"I see how you look at me, your eyes don't lie" he was inside now, the door was shut and I was leaning against it.
"You're the one with the staring problem, Xavier" I said it slowly, so he could hear me clearly.
"I like the way you say my name" he stood in front of me, blocking my way around his glare. He was the most confusing person. How could someone act the way he had toward me and be saying the things he was right now.
His hand was on my waist, making me nervous. "Say it again" he whispered in my ear, leaning in closer than he ever had. He had a delirious look in his eyes. He was probably just sleepy. I couldn't let this continue if I thought he would regret it in the morning.
"L-listen you should probably go back to um, y-your room. It's kind of late." I snapped out of his haze and decided this was the right thing to do. I didn't want to be just a random one off.
"Is that what you really want?" He said, but he gave me a look that said "I know you want me too"
"I don't want to do anything with you, you're not my type. I just need someone too keep me company." Ouch, that stung. His tone switched and he was back to normal. No longer the seductive charmer that almost had me in his grasp.
I watched in shock as he climbed into my bed and got under the cover. "What are you doing?" I looked at him like he was crazy.
"Like I said, my room is too cold, you don't want me to freeze do you?" I could not believe him, he was truly shameless.
"Cmon? We haven't shared a bed since we were little kids" he said.
"I'll behave I promise" He was already tucked in.
"You have to be out by morning" he groaned in response.
I climbed in next to him, emphasizing the space between us. He faced my side of the bed and I faced away from him. I felt his hand touch my back and I moved.
"Don't be like that, Little Honey pot." I turned and looked at him with an simple smile. That was my childhood nickname. He used to call me that when we were younger. I was always his little honey pot, but as we got older, I was just Honey. I couldn't help but smile back at him.
I was so confused as to how he could hate me one second and be so sweet the next.
I turned back around and he managed to snake his arm over my waist and press his body into my back. I felt his bare chest radiating heat and his arm fell right under my boobs. My heart pounded.
"You know I can feel your heart beat?" He whispered in my ear.
Why are you so nervous? Didn't Mateo touch you like this?" He laughed but I could tell he meant it.
"Why are you so fixed on what I did with Mateo? Do you want to sleep on the floor?" I added. He laughed.
"Good night" was all he said back. But he held onto me tight, almost like he was trying to hug me.
It felt real.
