After Blue dropped the kids off, they immediately started making themselves comfortable. The room she'd dropped them off in was a large entertainment room that had four connected bedrooms. Blue had referred to it as a sort of "guest chambers" for families, shooting Gideon a hateful look before wishing them a good night.
"She has issues." Gideon had said before the four split up to explore where they'd be staying, against Merlin's wishes.
The entertainment room was a large room which contained an air hockey table, a pool table, a large flat screen TV, a gaming system with all the different gaming consoles one could wish for, a miniature kitchen stocked up with snacks and sodas (presumably for when one needed a late night snack), a couple sofas as well as a bean bag chair, a writing desk, and many more things.
The bedrooms were a standard issue, mostly made up of large beds, dressers for their clothes, and large walk in closets. They all shrugged it off for the most part other than Elsa who was already thinking on ways to improve the space.
They met back up in the entertainment room to talk. Ruby was lounging on one of the couches with her feet propped up, deep in Dreamland. Elsa sat at the writing desk, scribbling on a pad of paper. Gideon immediately made a beeline for the gaming system. Merlin walked in last.
"And what do you three think you're doing?"
"Did you notice the way he looked at me?" Ruby asked, giggling. "He's so sweet. I think I'll keep him."
"Hello? Earth to Ruby? We've got a job to do."
"Merl, I think we're gonna have a problem." Elsa said quietly, shaking as she turned to face Merlin. "Now we have magic."
"Yes. Maybe it'll make our job easier."
"But I never got control over my.... y'know...ice powers."
"Don't worry about that right now. We'll concern ourselves with that after we get the wand."
"Girls, he's right." Gideon reminded. "Our parents are counting on us."
Both girls nodded. "Off to the museum then?" Ruby asked.
"Yep. Let's go steal Fairy Godmother's wand."
* * * * *
It took awhile but they finally found the museum. The place was, unfortunately, locked. Luckily for them, though, the guard fell asleep after a few minutes.
Merlin pulled out his mother's spell book. Citing a quick spell, the door unlocked and they entered. They quickly found that there were a lot of rooms that branched off from the first.
"Ok split up. Gideon and I will check down here. Girls, check upstairs." They nodded their agreement and everyone raced off. When Merlin and Gideon came to where the room branched off into two separate rooms, Merlin said, "We need to split up again and cover all bases. Gideon, you check the Hall of Heroes. I'll check the Hall of Villains." Gideon nodded and ran off.
Merlin made his way through the hall, seeing an odd sight. There was a statue of each villain, along with things of theirs in glass cases. He saw a likeness of Maleficent with her staff propped up on a stand, her spinning wheel off to the side, Jafar with his own staff also propped up on a stand, Gaston with his rifle hung above a portrait of him, Ursula with her cauldron off to the side, and Lady Tremaine and her daughters.
Then there was Gothel with the golden flower under a glass case almost exactly like the one that held the Enchanted rose. And Hans with his many brothers, their weapons hung around them. Dr. Facilier was in a dark corner (ironically enough) with his staff propped up on a stand. His cards and amulet were in a glass case, the masks representing his "friends on the other side" hung on the wall behind him.
Mad Madam Mim was off to one side next to Morgana. Each lady's wands were held in glass cases. Hades was in another dark corner. Unfortunately, his Olympian crystal wasn't in the museum since it was too dangerous to keep on display. Atama Toa was on full display, his gold spilled out on the floor (probably purposefully).
Shuriki was also on full display, along with several other villains from Avalor, her wand kept in a case. Captain Hook rested on a likeness of his ship. Mor'du was up on his hind legs, looking honestly kind of scary.
Rasputin was in yet another dark corner, his power source in a glass case. Rothbart, Clavius, and Zelda were all grouped together (go figure), as were villains like the Goblin King, the Horned King, and the Evil King (no relation to his mother).
Each of the dark ones were on display, making a line from the final dark corner to close to the center of the room. The one in the corner was Nimueh, the one closest to the center was Rumplestiltskin. The Dark One dagger rested in a large glass case.
Ruby's father, Fenrir, was in a predatory stance, off to one side. Elsa's mother, Ingrid, stood on full display in all her glory, as did Gideon's mother, Fiona. Fiona's wand was also in a glass case like the others.
Merlin shuddered as he approached the very center of the room. Close to it, on one side, was his grandmother, the Queen of Hearts. On the other side was his Aunt Zelena, the Wicked Witch. Her broom was kept in a large glass case. And there, in the very center, was his own mother with two pedestals on either side of her, one for her heart box, the other housing a basket of apples. His mother still had her magic mirror back at the Isle which was why it wasn't displayed there.
At the back of the room, he noticed a safe made of crystal. A voice was coming from it and he might've been drawn to it if he didn't suddenly hear his mother calling his name.
"Mother?"
"Over here, dear." He looked over to see the statue of his mother had come to life.
"How are you here?"
"Oh, you know better than that, my boy! I'm not really here. I'm just guiding you. Now listen your mother!"I was once like you, my child
Slightly insecure
Argued with my mother too
Thought I was mature
But I put my heart aside
And I used my head
Now I think it's time you learned
What dear old mother said
Don't you wanna be evil like me?
Don't you wanna be mean?
Don't you wanna make mischief your daily routine?
Well you can spend your life attending to the poor
But when you're evil
Doing less is doing more
Don't you wanna be ruthless and rotten and bad?
Don't you wanna be very very good at being bad?
I have tried my whole life long to do the worst I can
Clawed my way to victory
Built my master plan
Now the time has come, my dear
For you to take your place
Promise me that you will try to be an absolute disgrace
Don't you wanna be evil like me?
Don't you wanna be cruel?
Don't you wanna be nasty and brutal and cool?
And when you grab that wand
That's when your reign begins
Who wants an evil queen without a sack of sins?
Don't you wanna be heartless and hardened as stone?
Don't you wanna be finger-licking evil to the bone?
This is not for us to ponder
This was preordained
You and I shall rule together
Freedom soon regained
Rulers of the universe
Powerful and strong
Son of mine, hear me
Help me, join me
Won't you sing along?
Both: Now we're gonna be evil it's true
Never gonna think twice
Merlin: And we're gonna be spiteful
Regina: Yes spiteful
That's nice
In just an hour or two
Our futures safe and sure
This mother and son act is going out on tour
If you wanna be evil and awful and free
Then you should thank your lucky star
That you were born the boy you are
The son of an evilicious queen
Of mean
Like me!!!!At that moment, Gideon rushed in the room. "Merl, we found it!"
Merlin followed his friend upstairs and into another room, just in time to see Ruby reach for the wand.
"Stop!" He warned but it was too late.
The girls were thrown backwards as an alarm went off. The group immediately made a run for it, Merlin angrily shouting, "Great job, Ruby! Now we have to go to school tomorrow!" Then they disappeared into the night.
