As the day of coronation grew closer, the VKs grew more and more anxious. Even though they loved Storybrooke, there still had to get Fairy Godmother's wand.
One day during the final week of school, the VKs were sitting in their seats in Remedial Goodness class after finishing their very final exam when Blue made an announcement.
"Kids, as you know tomorrow is graduation day but before graduation, we like to celebrate by inviting all the parents of each of our happy graduates to come visit in what we like to call Family Day. Now, since your parents, unfortunately, cannot attend due to...ah...distance...I have arranged a little surprise for you. If you'll all come over here, dears."
The VKs joined Blue at the front of the room. With a flourish, she removed a sheet off a large object that turned out to be a large gilded mirror.
"This mirror is linked to other magic mirrors. You'll be able to see and talk to your parents now."
With that, something swirled in the mirror and, the next moment, everyone's reflections were replaced by four figures: Regina, Fiona, Ingrid, and Fenrir (in wolf form).
"What's this?" Regina said. "Sydney, what am I looking at?"
"Oh look! It's my least favorite person in the world!" Fiona said. "How's it going, Blue? Ruined anyone else's life or am I just lucky?"
"Cinderella." Ingrid answered for Blue. "What happened there? You really couldn't give her til one?"
"Ugh! Really? Just because you're villains doesn't mean you have to be so nasty!" Blue said before stomping over to stand beside the mirror, giving the VKs the floor.
"How are you all doing, darlings?" Fiona drawled as soon as Blue had moved. "Got into any mischief?"
"Actually, mom, I joined the Tourney team and my coach thinks I could become a knight one day!"
"A knight? Dear, I didn't raise you to become a knight. I raised you to be a prince!" She scolded.
"Now, now." Ingrid stepped in. "Let the boy have his dreams! How are you, Elsa? What's that fluffball you're holding?"
"His name is Olaf and he's my puppy!"
"Now, Elsa, you know we don't have pets! They get in the way!"
"Enough of this!" Regina said. "Honestly, you all fight like children!" She turned her attention to her son. "Merlin, did you find the thing I told you I'd like for Mother's Day?" Regina asked, sneakily since Blue was still there.
"Oh. Yes, mother, I did. But it's very hard to get."
   "I see."
Fiona figured out what Regina was up to. "Gideon, dear, when can mummy come see you?"
   "Um..."
"In a couple days there's a coronation." Merlin answered. "We'll be able to visit all of you sometime after."
The villains all started arguing amongst themselves before the scene cut out. Blue shook her head, giving the VKs an apologetic look.
"I'm so sorry!" She said. "I had no idea! I just wanted to help!"
Merlin gave her a sad smile. "It's ok. We're used to it. Thank you anyway."
   "You're welcome."
With that, Blue covered the mirror once more, busying herself with cleaning up.
The four headed out the door. On the way out, Ruby stopped to ask, "What do you think our parents will do to us if we fail?"
Merlin sighed. "I think they will be proud of us for trying our best."
   "Really?" Elsa asked.
Merlin shook his head, Gideon answering for him, "If we don't get that wand, then we're doomed."
                           * * * * *
The group were awake for most of the night as they contemplated all that had happened and the pros and cons of their situation.
On one hand, they were happy here in Storybrooke. Merlin had Rose (sort of), Ruby had Percival, Gideon had Tourney along with a lot of friends, and Elsa had Olaf and a promising start to a career she loved.
On the other hand, however, they knew exactly what their parents were like. Maybe Elsa could get off fairly easily but the rest of them were screwed!
The four of them knew they only had one choice and they spent most of the night up, planning how things would go down.
Come morning, not a one had slept the entire night. They met up to discuss the plans.
"Alright," Merlin said, "now remember, after I grab Fairy Godmother's wand tomorrow, we have to split and fast. Gideon, you'll need to take down the guards. Elsa, you nab the limo. Use this on the limo driver." He pulled out what looked like a perfume bottle. "A couple of spritz and he'll be out like a light."
They all nodded together as they accepted the plan.
"Merl, are we doing the right thing?" Ruby asked. "I mean we have a great life here!"
All of the VKs turned to Merlin. "We don't have a choice." He said.
That's when Elsa's eyes wandered down to something in Merlin's hand. "Merl, are you making the antidote?"
"Well...yea...I just figured once the barrier is broken and all the villains come in, start wrecking havoc, and kicking everyone out of their castles, it wouldn't be fair if Rose was still in love with me. It would be too cruel."
With that, the bell rang, signalling that Family Day was starting.
"Now c'mon! We have just one more day to get through."
   They headed off.
