Selene's POV

We left the next day. To say I was upset would be a MAJOR understatement. I, being the only person who knew where the Redstone Pack was, I had to lead my pack there.

I rode on my motorcycle, preferring the openness to the cramped up space that is a car. Kayden and Karl tried to talk to me thoughts. I could hear Chase in the car behind me, telling them to just give me a little time.

When we arrived I pulled off my helmet and raced into the woods. I just needed to think for a bit before seeing my old pack. I don't know how long i ran, but I knew it was no five minute jog.

I decided to go on back and help Chase with whatever it was he needed.

Tyler's POV

The Dark Crescent Moon Pack has just arrived and I saw one of them take off into the woods.

The Alpha, Chase Dark and who I'm guessing to be his Beta and Third stepped out of their Porche and the rest of his pack followed suit.

They had a lot of nice cars, I mean damn, how much money does this pack have? And who the motorcycle belong to? It's a pretty sweet Ducati, whoever it belongs to.

"Welcome," I said with a smile. The Alpha merely nodded. Seriously?! The dude can't even say thanks or something? He was looking at me with utter contempt, as were his Beta or Third. What did I ever do to them?

"My Beta will be joining us soon," Chase announced.

"Who are they then?" I nodded to the two guys standing beside him.

"My Third, Kayden, and his brother, Karl."

"And where's your Beta?" I asked.

"Blowing off steam," He replied coldly. Was he like this?

"How long do you think she'll be?" Chase' Third asked his brother.

Oh, so his Beta is a female, that's quite interesting.

"I don't know, she was hella pissed about coming here in the first place," Karl replied. What is up with this pack? What do they have against the Redstone Pack?

"I hope she'll be fine," Kayden murmured.

"She's fine," Karl grinned at his brother. "She can fend for herself and I reckon she's about ready to kill any wolf that even looks at her weird,"

"You asked us so we could train your pack, correct?" Chase asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"How long exactly do you think it will take for your untrained wolves to be ready if we trained them?" He asked.

"A year at most," I responded.
"Why?"

"No reason," he said.

Chase turned to address both packs. As he was talking I noticed the little white wolf that had run off earlier come stand at Chase' right side.

So, this tiny little runt was his Beta? She doesn't look very strong at all. I turned my attention back to Chase and watch as he placed a calming hand on the Beta wolf's head.

"My beta, here, will be training you all," Chase announced. "I hope none of you have any qualms about fighting a girl, because that's what you'll be doing for the next year,"

"Did you just say a GIRL?" Kris insisted. "She might get hurt,"

I saw the Beta turn to Chase and roll her eyes. I wish I had a name for her other than 'the Beta'. Kayden and Karl, the twins chuckled at my pack's reaction to fighting a girl.

I didn't get it, honestly, how could a girl posibly beat my pack? The Dark Crescent Pack seemed to believe that she was good and I guess they should know, but whatever. If she gets hurt, there will be an I told you so anxiously waiting from my pack.

"You don't think she can take you on?" Chase laughed then turned to me. "Alright, who's you're best fighter?"

"That would be Kris," I responded. His Beta smiled. She probably liked the thought of trying to pummel him.

"Kris, meet my beta," Chase grinned. "She'll tear you into pieces if she wants,"

Kris rolled his eyes and pulled his shirt off. He didn't bother pulling off his pants, just shifted, causing them to rip and fall to the ground. Chase' beta gazed lazily at him.

Kris launched himself and she just stepped to the side, dodging him. Kris flung himself towards her again and she crouched. Kris flew over her head as she appraised him.

They did this for a while, Kris would attack and she would dodge. Was that all she could do? Finally I guess the Beta got bored, because this time, when Kris attacked her, she clamped her teeth down onto his leg. She shoved him to the ground, her jaws only inches away from his throat. She slowly stood up and moved away from him.

Kris walked back to his spot, his wolfish head hung low. The Beta took up her spot and grinned at Chase. She must've said something to him through their link because he laughed and patted her head.

"Does anybody else want to have a go at her?" Chase asked. "She might not go easy this time, though,"

No one responded for a minute, I was very disappointed in my pack. They didn't want to go up againts a girl? Pathetic.

"I think we're done for now. Everyone eat and rest up," Chase ordered. "Tomorrow after school, we'll begin the real training."

"Nash, show the Dark Crescent Pack members to their room," I commanded, I stoped Chase as he and his men (and beta) were walking away. "I'd like to speak to you and your Beta,"

Chase shrugged and the two of them followed me into my office. I shut the door behind us, and I saw that Chase had taken up a sort of protective stance in front of the she-wolf. She still hadn't shifted back, and I had no clue as to why.

Something was strange about the whole pack, none of them seemed to trust us. Least of all Chase and his three officers.

"I would just like to thank you again for coming to our aid" I said. Chase nodded-again- with a cold glare at me. The Beta looked at him and rolled her eyes.

"What's your problem with my pack?" I asked.

"A lot of things," he replied. "But you asked for our help and I could not refuse it, being the kind person that I am," His beta snorted at his words.

"Why she has not shifted back yet?" I asked him.

"She doesn't want to," he shrugged. "I wouldn't force her to shift back if she didn't want to. It's her choice,"

"You give your Beta far too much control," I muttered.

"Excuse me?" He asked.

"Well, my beta would shift back in the presence of another Alpha," I said. "It's a sign of respect,"

"Maybe," he paused dramatically. "She doesn't respect you."

"This is my territory you are in," I snarled.

"Yes, and you need my help," he smirked.

"I could kill you," I said. His Beta growled at me. She moved to his side and took up a protective stance beside him.

"But, I won't," I smiled. "Goodnight,"

They turned around and left my office. I could hear Chase grumbling to his Beta about what a d*ck I was.

I have a feeling that I've met the she-wolf before, her scent was oddly familiar and yet, I couldn't place it. Perhaps we've had a run-in before. It wouldn't be the first time I've ever gotten into some trouble with the females of the other packs. But this scent....whatever. I couldn't be bothered to care. I had more pressing matters to deal with, such as keeping the new pack in line.
