Selene's POV

I slowly turned around to stare wide-eyed at him. The cafeteria was so silent that a pin drop could be heard a mile away.

Tyler smiled hopefully at me as I glared meanly at him.

Did he seriously think that all it took for my forgiveness was a bunch of measly words? He had another thing coming if he thought he could just say sorry and that I'd forget all about the years of torment.

"So...what? You thought that by not only telling the school that I was your mate, but also telling them that you regret rejecting me that I would just forgive you? Just like that? Act like the past however many years of torture didn't happen?" I scoffed.

"Um...yes?" He guessed. "Anyone would love to be my mate, and you are. So let's just pretend that those years didn't happen.

Let's move on and leave the past in the past. Don't you think you can just forgive me?" He smiled charmingly at me.

I stare at him for a long minute before pulling my brown hair away from my neck to reveal a scar running from the bottom of my ear to the right above my shoulder.

"Do you remember this?" I asked quitely. "Because I do. I remember how you had two of your little buddies hold me down while you dragged a silver blade down my skin.

I screamed out in pain, begging you to stop, but none of you did. And my brother just stood there watching you tortured me. He did nothing, he said nothing," Tyler stayed silent.

"So, no I can't just forgive your dumb ass, I don't think I can just forgive you. Forgiveness is not easily given, you must earn it."

My eyes watered as I turned on my heels and walk to my pack. Chase quickly wrapped his arms around my shoulders and we walked out of the cafeteria.

I paused when I heared a cry outrage and a loud smack. Turning, I saw a small red haired girl glaring at Tyler. He was holding his cheek, staring at her in surprise.

"You asshole!" She yelled. "How could you do that to her? She was a member of your pack gor Christ's Sake! You don't deserve to be our Alpha if this is how you treat your pack members the people you are supposed to care for and loved, you are brutally torturing. And the worst part is she's your mate! Frankly, I would hate to be in your pack."

"I-I-" Tyler stuttered.

"Just shut up," The girl snarled. "You sicken me,"

My eyes widened as I watched the girl so boldly defy her Alpha for a girl she don't even know. She stomped away from him and came to stop in front of me.

"Hi," she said. "I'm Starr Rivershade,"

"Uh, I'm Selene Rose Black," I said.

She turned to face Chase and her eyes turned into saucers. "Mate." She whispered.

"You're my mate," Chase murmured. A wide smile breaking into his face. Chase crashed his lips againts hers and I fake gagged.

"Uh, guys, as incredibly cute as this, you just ruined my dramatic exit," I announced.

Chase laugh and shook his head. I smirked as I followed the lovebirds out of the lunchroom. Tyler was just going to have to learn that forgiveness is never easily given.

He doesn't know regret. Not yet, not even close. When I'm done with him, all he'll be able to do is regret rejecting me, because no one crosses Selene Rose Black and gets away with it.
