So this one will be longer than my usual ones because I think it's my second to last chapter (maybe. it might be the last). So everyone, please enjoy!!

Todoroki POV

I pace the hallways, awaiting the love of my life, Izuku Midoriya. I'm waiting in the hallway of the local hospital. Izuku, a while back, suffered from memory loss because of a villain attack. It's been a few months now, and the doctors are giving him a checkup just to make sure everything's all right.

I wait for what seems like hours, (but is really only one hour) before he comes out.

He has the brightest smile on his face, and it feels like the sun is directing all of its sunshiny-ness to me.

"Guess what," he says, holding my hands in his.

"Hmm..." I tilt my head to the side, pretending to think. "You have to stay here another year or else you'll forget everything?"

He gives me a playful slap. "No, Shoto! I can be a hero again!" The light in his eyes holds the same excitement I've seen while growing up with him since we were fifteen. Every time he saw All Might, when he was told that he was going somewhere he loved, when I asked him to be my boyfriend... the same light shines, and it brings joy to my heart, an emotion I learned to have at the age of sixteen.

I hug and kiss him, our lips fitting perfectly on each other's.

When we finally part, he's blushing and smiling from ear to ear.

Then, it disappears.

"We have to clean today, don't we?"

"Yup."

"Fuck."

"Wow, I can't believe my cinnamon roll of a boyfriend would curse."

"Oh, shut up."

"C'mon, let's start so we finish early."

We head to the car hand in hand, making small talk about him being so excited about working as a hero. I honestly can't wait, either. When he's on the battlefield with me, it's like we're unstoppable. We'll look at each other, and in one second, we'll know exactly what to do and when to do it. We don't even have to say anything.

But it was different the day it all went down. The villains we were facing were... different. They didn't seem to have any motive, just wanting to cause destruction. Every other villain we had faced was driven by a motive, something- or someone- who drove them insane or to do something evil. Those villains were unpredictable, and in a way, more dangerous than villains with regular motives...

And suddenly, I get transported to that day. I'm standing there, my feet planted on the ground. I see Bakugou, Kirishima, and Izuku fighting the villain, but when I try to run and help them, already knowing the end result, my feet don't move. I'm stuck there, watching the love of my life and my friends risk their lives and end up getting hurt. I try to scream but my voice doesn't seem to work, either. I try to look around but my head is stuck facing them like someone is holding my face and making me watch.

And then I'm back in the present time. I'm on the ground, tear streaming down my face. Izuku and some doctors are crowded around me, and a few are about to pick me up and take me inside. I wave them off and sit up, feeling fine. Izuku looks worried, but I look him in the eyes and force a smile.

He still seems a bit worried, but he accepts the smile and smiles back. He takes my hand and helps me up as I assure the doctors I'm fine. And really, I am.

Izuku walks me back to the car, my arm over his shoulders.

"Heh," I laugh at the irony.

He looks at me, worry covering his face again.
