𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞.

Tuesday January 14th, 2020

I linked my phone up to my jeep's
bluetooth accessory before putting my
R&B playlist on shuffle. As 'You Know Wassup'
by Kehlani began to play, I backed out of
the shop's parking lot. Today was my day
off, but I came in to make the schedule
for next week as well as fill appointments
in the book.

As I began singing along with Kehlani,
the song paused; I was confused until my
phone started ringing throughout the car.
I looked at the screen of my phone, which
was propped up on my dashboard, the screen
showed an incoming call from 'Mani 🧸'.

I smiled at the thought of Normani
calling me; we had been texting since she
left the shop Sunday night. I quickly hit
the accept call button that was on my steering
wheel. Before I could say anything, her
Houston, Texas accent filled the speakers
of my car. "Hello beautiful!"

A cheesy grin took over my face as I
stopped at the red light, responding back
with a very excited "Hi love!" She chuckled
before asking me what I was doing, and
honestly I had no clue. I definitely didn't
want to spend my day off on my couch
watching senseless reality tv. When I
answered her question with a simple
"Nothing, why what's up?"

"Well beautiful, you have plans now.
You're coming to eat lunch with me,
what are you feeling for mamas?"
I blushed at her calling me mamas, it
sounded so cute .. even better hearing it
come from her. I shook my head trying
to concentrate back to what she had
previously asked me.

"Soul food would be nice right about
now, or seafood? What would you like to
eat?" She made a 'hmmm' sound, as if she
was thinking of what she wanted. She then
said she could go for some seafood too, so
we decided on a seafood place in downtown
Hollywood.

After our little dinner date, we
decided to go to Melrose to shop around
for a bit.
