Top's POV:

When we got back from Japan, Sumi started having trouble sleeping. More accurately, she stopped sleeping. Upon realizing she was intentionally keeping herself awake, Hyunseong called me.

"Why do you think she started this?" I asked.

"The first few nights after we came back, I would hear her screaming or crying in her sleep," Hyunseong replied. "I'd always go in to wake her, but she wouldn't wake up. She'd stop crying when I held her, though. I think when she realized something was making me come hold her every night, she knew I was hearing her."

"So you think whatever nightmare this was, she's trying to avoid it by not sleeping?"

"Sumi always feels horrible whenever anything she does upsets me or disrupts my routines," Hyunseong started. "It's because when she stayed in Japan for three years, she knew we were risking everything for her and I literally dropped everything, rushing back to Japan to help Donghyun deliver the twins. Then I stayed to help them take care of her and the babies for the first two weeks. She needed time to recover from childbirth and to adjust to being a new mother. Not to mention the twins' delivery wasn't as easy as everyone assumed. We thought we were going to have to risk taking her to the hospital."

"What happened?" I asked him.

"Sumi was too small to be delivering twins naturally," he said. "She was losing a lot of blood and her vital signs weren't always steady. Somehow, she delivered both babies and her vital signs evened out enough that we knew she'd be okay. Both babies were healthy and we knew their mother would be fine with some rest."

"What about the blood she lost?"

"I had already served my conscription, as an army medic. I was able to give her a transfusion," he told me. "You're not the only one that shares a blood type with my cousin. I took two pints from myself the day the twins were born and transfused it into Sumi. Right before I returned to Seoul two weeks later, I risked a third."

"That's really dangerous."

"When I told Lee Know that I agreed to take Sumi, I knew who she was already, Top. He'd told me the truth about himself, Youngjae, and Sumi. I promised him I would do whatever it took to keep her and the baby safe," he told me. "She wasn't far enough along for us to know she was having twins. So, yeah, I'm overprotective of her. But that's partially because of what G-Dragon did to her and partially because of what Lee Know and Han were risking their lives to keep her out of by bringing her to me."

"So this is why, of everyone, she tries the hardest not to upset or disappoint you?" I asked and he nodded.

"I don't get upset or disappointed in her easily, but on the rare occasion I have, she takes it very hard," he replied. "I think she feels like she owes me for bringing her to Japan. The truth is, if anything, Donghyun and I owe her."

"Why?"

"Before Sumi, Min Woo didn't take anything seriously," he said. "After he met her, he was still my innocent baby brother, but he had matured. He was taking school seriously, he started helping her and Donghyun without complaining. He helped her raise the twins because he wanted to."

"And she's serious enough about this that she'd stop sleeping to keep from disturbing you?" I asked.

"I think it's a combination of desperation not to get caught in the nightmare as much as not disturbing me."
