Chanyeol's POV:
I didn't know why, but Mark Tuan asked me to come over and hang out with his brothers while he ran an errand. I had gotten closer to the youngest twins since they had served their conscription. So I agreed to do it.
Yugyeom and BamBam had been called, along with Youngjae and Changkyun for their conscription before JB, Jackson, Kihyun, and Hyungwon returned from conscription. That had been a blow to Got7 and Monsta X. All of a sudden, Mark only had JB, Jackson, and Jinyoung in the house with him. Shownu only had Wonho, Minhyuk, and Jooheon. Even though Sumi was still barely talking to anyone, having Youngjae and Changkyun no longer anywhere in Seoul had a bad effect on her. She was less responsive than usual.
Still, when everyone came back, we knew that all of that was over... At least unless Min Woo and Han were somehow found alive with the kids. Unfortunately, It had been close to seven years. Almost everyone had started to accept the inevitable possibility that the four of them would never be found. Nobody would mention it were Sumi could hear, but there was talk about having them declared legally dead.
So, I was hanging out with Yugyeom, BamBam, JB, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, and Changkyun while Mark was out. The older brothers were all fussing over BamBam and Yugyeom. After a rough start to trying university and taking a hiatus for their conscription they were finally on track to graduate. If they kept things up the way they were going, they would graduate at the end of the academic year. The brothers were making just as much of a fuss over Youngjae, who was only six months shy of finishing medical school. He didn't lose any time because they trained him with the army medical corps during his conscription, which his medical school used the experience as credits. He was at the top of his class.
"So, what do you guys want to do?" I asked them.
"Order take-out and celebrate?" Jackson suggested.
"That sounds like fun," I said. "I mean, who thought these two would actually become serious about university?"
"Hey, the army changes you!" Yugyeom defended himself, pouting.
"He's still traumatized they shaved his head," Jinyoung said, laughing, making us all laugh.
We ordered enough takeout to feed an army unit and hung out in the game room. Everything was going great.
"So, BamBam, why haven't you said anything about being on conscription?" I asked him.
"There was nothing to say," he replied.
"Bullshit!" Yugyeom shouted. "He used to cry at night!"
We all laughed at BamBam, who started tossing pillows at our heads. A few hours later, we heard the door open and Mark call to find out where we were. We all went downstairs to him, having been having a great time all day. None of us expected what happened next.
"Look who's back," Mark said, stepping aside.
"Lucy!" the guys from Got7 and Changkyun rushed to hug her when they saw her, while I stood frozen in shock.
When they finally let her go, she looked at me. I could see her uncertainty. I understood. I wasn't sure she was really standing in front of me. She started to stare at her hands. Mark nudged me with his shoulder, making me look at him.
"Chanyeol, do you mind helping Lucy take her things to her room? I need to talk to my brothers," he said, nudging me towards Lucy.
"Oh... sure," I finally said, awkwardly.
I was on autopilot as I grabbed her things and started to her room. She looked different, but she was still my Lucy. Her skin was tanned, her hair was sun-kissed, and she didn't seem as anxious as she was in the last few months before she'd left almost two years ago. And I... I still loved her wholeheartedly. We got to Lucy's room and I put her things down. I turned to her and still hadn't spoken.
