You think for a moment of what happened in the car. His outburst, and why he didn't want to talk about Five. You presume she's dead, but how could she be? That woman was damn near unkillable, and very agile to the say the least. But before you could ask about her, he gets up and goes and picks up the metal washtub.
He then pauses and looks at the curtained off side room you weren't sure where it lead, when you entered the cabin. He places the tub on the floor, and walks over to the room, and falls just after he goes through the curtain.
"Hey! There's a tile floor! Heh, this room is windowless too! Damn! Optimal privacy!"
You giggle, and pick up the washtub. It's a lot lighter than it looks.
"Watch the shift in floor height. Caught me off guard." He said, in the darkness, trying to get some light in the tiled room with the now evening gray light. You pull the tub with you, screeching on the wooden floor, as you nervously approach the dark cornered off room. You feared that it was full of hanging bodies, and blood, but as you pulled away the curtain, in the darkness the first thing you see is his slim, short form, and a sink in the gray light, baring his lighter's little flame to get a scope of this room.
"I'm looking for a lamp of some kind, or a light. And yeah, it just looks like just an ordinary bathroom. Welp."
You feel a hard thing slip under your foot, you go to pick it up, it's a candle.
"I found some light." You say, as you show him the long, green candle within the lighter's warm light. He puts it in an old beer bottle with the top handle of it broken off, and it illuminated quickly, showing the full bathroom."Does this place have running water?" He asks, as he moves the tub over near the spout. "Some places do, but it's quite rare since a lot of water pumps rely on electricity, some rely on gravity."
He turns the circular lever, some dark dust seeps out of it as it makes a "kuurghh" sound. "I can't tell." he says. Suddenly a dark liquid squirts out of it, almost smelling like rotten flesh mixed with mud. Belt, closer to the spout, gags from the awful smell. The dark liquid gradually clarifies as that awful swampish odor moves across the room. Silt accommodates onto the ground drain directly below it.
"Glad to know it's a gravity pump.. Let's just let that run for a bit. I've never seen that happen before. Must have been like a decade or-so of being unused. Don't know why it smells like a dead person." You get the sudden urge to hug him... You don't care about the smell at all, but just to be in his arms again sounds like the best thing ever to you. You follow through with your will this time.
"Woah!" he exclaims as you pull him into your embrace. You place your head on his red bandana.
"Th-thanks." He mutters.
You want more, you look up to him, yet you see astonishment in his face. "Been a good while since I've been hugged.." He blushed. "Let's live tonight like it's our last! Ahaa!" He cheered in coy celebration. "I'm glad we outran those assholes, but we must prepare for tomorrow." He reaches down to your butt. "This may be our last day on this planet, you know. I'm sorry to drag you into this, but if we both survive, we'll be one of the first families since the flash. I can't run away, anymore... I need to do this for Five. They killed her!""Five..?" You asked, you remember the strong lady protecting you, and looking out for you in the joy lab.
"I actually had to, but I found her mutant in their hideout, she told me to find you, Subject 3." You feel cold go down your back. You haven't been called that for years. You'd prefer to be called by your name. Yvette.
"I'm sorry." He embraced you tighter. You start to notice that the awful odor is gone, and a new smell arises, the smell of ice, and also a faint scent of soap, overpowered by the smell of leather on Belt's jacket. You can hear his heartbeat, and breathing through his white shirt and bandana. You feel, for the first time ever, that the world is in your hands.
You leave his embrace and move the tub over to the spout, now, producing clean water. You watch it fill up half way, and feel the temp of it. Ice cold.
He glances at you with a smile.
"Hey, no worries, sweety. You've worked hard today, let me heat up some water for our bath." You get nervous.. 'Our bath?' You think to yourself. You think about the size of the tub, and think it might be a tight squeeze, but you both could fit. Come to think of it, last night, you got nervous over him sharing your bed. Your brain is fuzzy and you wonder how things changed so fast.. Yet, you can't get enough of him... At this point, you start salivating looking at his form in front of the spout now, filling a large cooking pot full of water. The tub, closer to you at this point. You want more of his warm hugs, and though it makes you nervous, you start growing curious of how he is in bed.
Perhaps what he said was right. You grow melancholy thinking about the coming days. Whenever you two have to battle those awful men, you hope that you both will come out okay.
You smell the scent of a resurrected fire, and of water heating up. "Y/n, you don't need to fill it anymore than how much it is, the water will be nice and warm."[Beltboy]
Still no idea why she goes by Wyann or like Whyenn? I think I should ask her.
