"If they capture you, they'll turn you into a mutant like they did with Five. I want you to stay very close to me... I don't want them to capture you. If there was a chance to hide you away in battle... Wait, Put this on."
He gives you a camo shawl. You put it on over your tired brown poncho. You are much warmer now. "That was my friend's shawl, he was the healer as we fought. He didn't realize how good of a friend he was..."
After a moment, of the sound of wind, and the soft, barely noticeable crackle of snowfall, he mutters: "Liam, Clyde... I'd be a happier man if you guys were here today." You get a lump in your throat. You've never experienced loss until you met him.
You realized something... It wasn't just loss. He made you feel a lot of emotions, he gave you new experiences, and without realizing the importance of this notion of his actions, he made you feel equal to him.. Instead of the youngest, the one to be protected, the one that needs to be sheltered from all the dangers of the world. You realize that this is the greatest thing you have experienced in your life. Something you deeply wanted for many years has happened... You are empowered to survive.. You feel empowered to protect him. You feel the need to say something and do something, but you aren't sure what.
