Chapter 12: Candy Store

*Hayes POV*

*That same day*

I wake up at 9, earlier than normal. I get dressed and comb my hair. I walk outside and head towards the docks. Usually Ella is sitting there, looking out at the water. This time I didn't see her there.

Weird.

*Ella POV*

"What should we do today?" Elizabeth asks no one in particular. Skylynn and I were playing horse in the living room, and Hannah was watching Scooby Doo. Paula and my mother were talking in the kitchen.

"We could go somewhere," Hannah says, staring at the TV.

"I guess we could, considering that our family didn't really do anything for Hayes' birthday." Elizabeth admits. I know his birthday was last week, and don't worry, I made sure to send him 80 billion birthday tweets. But I play dumb here, so that Elizabeth doesn't know that I was sorta, kinda stalking her son.

"When was his birthday?" I ask

"June 8th. He just turned 15" she says. "Man, they grow up so fast." Elizabeth looks out the window, and Paula and my mom sit at the table next to her.

"I want candy." Skylynn interrupts the silence. We all giggle a little.

"Speaking of candy, there is a candy store in Lakewood. We could go there for Hayes' birthday." I say. We all nod in agreement.

"Speak of the devil,"

*Hayes POV*

I searched for about 15 minutes before finding the girls in the Coils's condo. I walk into the condo hearing "Speak of the devil," so I finish the statement by saying "And he shall appear."

I sit near Hannah on the couch and before I even open my mouth Hannah says "Don't even think about judging my TV show selection." I put my hands up in surrender and see what she is watching. Scooby Doo. I can't help but smile.

"Scooby Doo! My favorite!" Nash walks in and sits on me.
"Get... OFF!" I push him off of me and onto Hannah.

"Gee, thanks Hayes." Hannah mumbles under the weight of Nash.

"Hayes, since we didn't really do anything for your birthday, we were thinking about going to the candy store that's in town. Sounds like a plan?" My mother asks

"Sounds like a mighty fine plan. Are Lucy and Aunt Frannie going to join?" I ask.

Ella gets up and sprints out of the condo. 30 seconds later she comes back and says "Yeah, they're coming."

We all got ready for the day and drove into town.

"Macy just texted me. We are eating lunch first." (Macy is Ella's mother btw)

"Ok," Nash and I say, and Skylynn complains a little.

*Nash POV*

We arrive at a bar called The Sand Trap.

I sit at a table in between Hannah and Lucy, with Hayes and Ella across from me.

"What's good here?" I ask and grab a menu.

"Oh the fish tacos here are amazing, but they are the size of pizzas," Hannah makes a big circle with her hands as a visual. Holy shiz.

"Wanna split one?" I ask. Out of the corner of my eye I see Ella wink at Hannah.

"Uh, sure"

Our food soon appears and we feast. Hannah and I try to eat our taco by picking it up and biting off the ends. While that went down, I heard a camera snap. I look up to see Lucy with her phone out. She best not post that or else World War III will start over the internet.

"Post that and you will find a post through your head." I say with food in my mouth.

"Hey, I thought it was funny!" Lucy says

"And adorable," Says Ella. There is a little moment of silence.

"I won't post it." promises Lucy.

*Hannah POV*

Nash and I finish our giant taco, and almost kissed when we got to the middle. I wish we did kiss, to be honest.

I mean what?

Anyways, we finally reach the candy store. This is not your average candy aisle in Walmart, no. There is almost every type of candy you can imagine here. There is a saltwater taffy room, a fudge room, a chocolate room, a room full of random gifts, some edible and others not, an ice cream room, and a sugar room.

When you walk in there are baskets you can fill, and they are measures and priced by the pound.

The Griers are in for a treat. *ba dum tss*

When we walk in, the Griers are in awe of the place, and Ella, Lucy and I just smile.

"I know, right." Ella says to them. I can see Skylynn's eyes light up. She grabs a basket and my hand and we run off, with Nash close behind.

"I wanna hold your hand too!" Nash wines and takes my hand.

The rest of the family is close behind us. We first head into the sugar room to get all of the name brand candies, as well as some of my home town favorites, such as the blue raspberry spray candy, and other fizzy candies.

*Ella POV*

I walk with everyone into the sugar room. Hannah and I get our favorite candies. Hayes and I walk over to the jelly bean, skittles, and other bite sized candy dispensers. Out of no where, Hayes sticks his face under the skittles dispenser, opens his mouth and fills it with skittles.

"Hey Ella, I've got a mouth full of skittles. Wanna taste the rainbow?" Hayes mumbles and winks at me. My natural reaction is to blush, so I do, while laughing.

I fill my mouth with skittles, like Hayes did, pull out my phone and take a picture of us. I text it to Hannah and Lucy, who are across the room, with the caption: Wanna taste the rainbow? ;)

Once they get the message, they look over at us and laugh. My mom, Paula, Elizabeth, Frannie, and Skylynn look at us and laugh too.

I turn to Hayes and say "Sure, I'll taste the rainbow," He gives a loving look, grabs me by my waist, pulls me in close, and with our mouths still filled with skittles, we share the rainbow.

I'm going to clarify things here. I'm pretty sure I confused you guys a little in this chapter. So here are the ages of the characters

Ella: 14

Hayes: 15

Nash: 17

Hannah: 16

Skylynn: 6

Lucy: 13
