"Ethan... Ethan..." I whispered while shaking his shoulder. "MMmhh, what?" Asked Ethan. "The horses seem uneasy." I said. "What's going on" Asked Steph Sitting up, rubbing her sleepy eyes. "I think there is something here." I said. Steph and Ethan quickly stood up grabbing their swords. "What do you think it is" asked a voice from behind me, giving me a fright. "Don't sneak up on me" I shouted rounding on Zalion. "My apologies if I scared you Kassandra." Replied the newest member of our Dragon slaying squad. "It's fine but that's not the problem right now, I think there is something out there." I said gesturing to the tree line. "Ne da lumina (give us light)" shouted Zalion and a sphere of light appeared in front of him. He pointed to the tree line and the ball of light flew towards it. We could faintly make out dark shapes mixed among the shadows of the forest. "I drew my swords and my squad followed suit, Ethan and Steph both getting their shields and Zalion notched an arrow to his bow. "whoever is there, show yourselves" I shouted to the unknown.
The shapes began to move away from the trees and in the light, we were able to see that they were about half the size of a normal man. "They're Dwarves." Said Steph. "Stay yer blade lassie we mean yer no harm" said the Dwarf closest to us. We could see that they had their weapons sheathed. "Who are you?" I asked. "We have been waiting for a convoy from the kingdom of men, we are a Recon Unit and you are?" Asked the Dwarf. "I am Kassandra Pendragon of the Dragon Slayers guild, we are the convoy you've been waiting for." I replied sheathing my swords. "Haha yer must be joking yer just a welp" said Farengar causing his followers to laugh. I drew my sword and put it to his throat all in a fraction of a second. "Well what do you think of this 'welp' now, hmm?" I said giving him a devilish grin; "Ay I see yer point, my apologies if I have insulted you" said Farengar holding up his hands. "Apology accepted" I said putting my sword away. "We've been sent to accompany you to Durinsdall, the pass can be a dangerous place for those without a map or sufficient knowledge of the paths to know which ones to take that won't lead you to certain death." "Well that was very considerate of the Dwarven king, we'll have to thank him later" I said. "Ay, if you went missing in our territory then that could start a war with the Dwarven Kingdom and there are a few in our city who oppose the alliance with the kingdom of men, some would go as far as trying to kill you!" Said Farengar. "Well it's much appreciated" I replied. "okay, come on get yer arse moving" Said Frengar. My squad quickly packed up camp just as the sun peeked over the Horizon lighting up the sky. We put on our armor, checked our weapons and were soon on our way. The Dwarves made good company, they were cheerful and friendly, always asking questions and laughing. They told us some of their battle stories that went with everyone of their scars.
I was happy that the Dwarves had come to help us because even though we had a map of Thrain's pass it was still easy to get lost. The Dwarves knew all the safe routes like the back of their hands.
Time flew by and it was soon noon time, so we decided to stop, to eat and give the horses a rest. There was a nearby stream and the horses drank from it gratefully. I moved to perch myself on a rock to admire the view but as I leant back the rock and some of those around it began to move and soon standing before me was what appeared to be a 200 year class rock dragon. I quickly jumped back and drew my weapons and the rest of my company did the same. The dragon reared back, blew flames into the air and came crashing down causing the ground to shake. It then blew flames in my direction. ")" Shouted Zalion and a magic barrier encircled me. The flames Engulfed the barrier, but I was left unscathed. "aquam mundam lavabitque (The water shall wash your soul clean)" Shouted Steph and there was a gush of water around me putting out the fire. I stepped back to where Zalion was standing. "Can you keep it from spotting me for a second?" I asked. "I can momentarily blind it using a dark spell" replied Zalion. Ethan and the dwarves were keeping the dragon occupied, the dwarves attacking its legs and Ethan sending strong slashes of air in an attempt to break its rocky armor. "Okay that Dark spell will have to do the trick and thanks for the save back there." I said. "No problem, anytime" replied Zalion giving me a dazzling smile. "Cast your spell and I'll melt its scales to expose its flesh. I moved so that the dragon's side was facing towards me. "Now!" I shouted. "Dan kegelapan akan menelan semua (And The darkness shall engulf all)" Chanted Zalion and a cloud of darkness appeared around the dragon's eyes. "
"Fere de!" I shouted and a torrent of flames gushed out onto the dragon's rocky scales melting them away and exposing the tender flesh beneath. "Ethan, I need a hand up!" I shouted as I ran towards him. He quickly turned towards me went down on one knee and held his shield at an angle, I Jumped onto his shield and pushed off just as he pushed up giving me an extra boost in the direction of the dragon. As I came back down, I thrusted my sword into the gap which I had created in the dragons rocky armor opening a massive gash in the dragons side, ripping flesh and damaging the organs beneath. Blood sprayed everywhere, drenching me from head to toe and smelling like copper. I took off my helmet blood dripping down my face and turned to my squad. "We did it!" I shouted raising my sword in triumph. "yeaaaaaah!" Shouted everyone in unison. "Well done, Kassandra" said one of Farengar's comrades. "We're just doing our jobs." I replied humbly. We rested for a while before setting off towards the Dwarven capital.
