The next morning Alexis awoke to hushed voices. Her head was pounding. Against their will she forced her eyes open only to be blinded by the harsh light of day. Her eyes snapped shut as if on their own accord.

Alexis was so uncomfortable. She started to shrug some heavy object off her shoulder then stopped suddenly as she realizes it was Daysia's head. She reached up and gently touched Daysia's face with her fingertips.

Daysia stirred and Alexis froze, but it was too late; the moment was lost. Daysia's head snapped up and she scooted as far from Alexis as she could without leaving the chair. Alexis' heart sank a little, but she masked it well.

Alexis forced her eyes open. The light looked green. "Wh-" she cleared her throat. "What the fuck is wrong with me?"

"You see it too?" Daysia asked.

"Yeah, why is the light green?" Alexis asked.

"I guess we smoked too much." Daysia said as she relaxed next to Alexis. They were touching again.

Bea, Dahlia, and some fat dark haired woman walked in. They looked at Alexis and Daysia and laughed.

"What the fuck?" Daysia asked. Alexis rolled her eyes and relaxed into the chair, ignoring the stupidity that was bound to follow.

"You look so fucked up." The fat girl said. "Here have a smoke you'll feel better."

"I don't want a fucking cigarette." Daysia spat. Alexis could feel Daysia's irritation.

"Come on," the fat girl said. "Yes you do." She through the cigarette at Daysia. It landed on her hoodie.

Alexis' eyes snapped open. She grabbed the cigarette and snapped it in half. "She said she didn't want it."

The fat girl jumped up, "I should beat your fucking ass."

"Bring it on or shit the fuck up." Alexis replied. She laid back into the chair again pretending to be calm and unafraid, but inside she was terrified.

Her nonchalant attitude must of worked because the fat girl got up and stormed out. Bea and Dahlia followed. Alexis felt Daysia relax beside her and fought back a smile.

After a few minutes the voices from the living room had become too much for Alexis to sleep through. Daysia, however, was having no problem. Alexis gently climbed out of the chair and gathered her things. She hated leaving Daysia, but she could hear a crowd in the living room. Alexis did not do crowds.

Alexis tiptoed into the hallway hoping she wouldn't run into the fat girl. She shouldn't have worried; the fat girl was no where to be seen. Alexis muttered an excuse as she walked out.

On the way home, Alexis repeated the nights events in her head. It was crazy, but suddenly she didn't hate Daysia anymore. Actually, Daysia and Alexis had been up all night laughing and smoking, and now Alexis felt closer to Daysia than anyone. But did Daysia feel the same?
