Year 1 Chapter 11 - A Battle to Remember
That night, Aby and I walked to the Dueling Club together. When we got there, we saw Chet and Keen waiting for us.
"I challenge you to a duel!" said Keen with overconfidence. He was pointing to Aby.
"I never got your name by the way." said Chet as we both went back to back. I didn't answer him. We both had our wand ready and a plan in our heads. My plan was "go with the flow", because you never know what you're opponent might do. Either way, I knew I had an advantage over Chet because of all the things I can do. This time, we were dueling one by one. Chet and I went first, followed by Keen and Aby.
"GO!" shouted Professor Flitwick.
We both turned around and faced each other. As soon as we did, Chet said "Flipendo!" just like I thought he would.
At the same time, I said "Protego!" and I reflected the spell back to him which sent him flying.
"What the! How did you learn that? We don't learn that spell till fourth year!" he said getting mad.
"I have my ways." I said as I smirked and spun my wand between my fingers. I knew he wasn't going to give up now because he stood back up and ran towards me.
"Expelliarmus!" he said.
I blocked the spell and returned it immediately with "Flipendo!"
"Wingardium Leviosa!" he said after blocking the spell. I started to float up into the air. Then, led by Chet's wand, I got slammed into a wall.
Then I felt my eyes burn "Ah!" I said covering my eyes. NO! I need to control it! I said in my head. Before I could say anything, my body slammed into the wall again. Then Chet dropped me to the ground and I fell on my knees. I kept my eyes closed, focusing on myself. I sat there giving all the energy I had to control myself, my pain. Some of the others thought I had lost. I heard some gasps and some yells.
Then, I slowly felt the pain go away. I could feel my eyes changing, my fangs coming through my gums. I half opened my eyes and stood up. Everyone was silent, waiting for me to do something. I even heard Chet smirk in the background. Then, I fully opened my eyes and looked straight at my opponent, who was now terrified.
I felt my dragon eyes adjust to the light as I picked up my wand.
"H-how!?" Chet asked still terrified.
I looked at Keen and said. "My pain is gone now." then I turned towards Chet and showed him my fangs. "Expelliarmus" I said in almost a whisper. Then Chet's wand flew out of his hands.
"You win! Ok? I surrender!" Chet finally said as he retrieved his wand.
"Hisssss!" I said when he was about to leave the room. I then made my eyes and teeth go back to normal and I looked to the Audience who were now clapping. They all probably thought Chet was a jerk too. By now, Keen had started to follow Chet out of room without saying a word.
"You never told me you can do that!" said Aby after Dueling Club.
"Well neither did I!" I said with a little laugh.
Year 1 Chapter 12 - Practice makes Perfect
Before I went to the common room, I went to the library with my invisibility cloak and
found a book on Snakes' Blood. If you didn't know, Snakes' Blood isn't a disease or anything. At least, that's what the book said. I was on my bed with my lamp on. I was reading about how Snakes' Blood isn't a disease. The book said that it was a gift, given by someone who recently died and also had it. I didn't know how that worked but hey! It's the wizard world! Anything is possible. Anyways, I was on chapter 3 of the book when Leo came over.
