Summer Time Chapter 1 - Still on the Train
I was still on the train. A weird way to start, but yes, I'm still on the train. You know, if you think about it, it sounds SUPER weird.
'Hi! My name is Leah Wings Scamander and I'm on a train!' Yeah, not happening.
Anyways, Snowy was in my lap resting her little head. I'm thinking about the last time I saw Redwood, the last time I saw Mary, the last time I saw anyone really. I know I was hanging out with Myrtle. And even though I think she's pretty cool, she doesn't really count.
I was looking out of the window to see puffy white smoke pass bye.
I shivered as I was reminded of the pure white of Pettle and Opre's eyes.
Olivia comes in a few minutes later.
"Hey, Olivia," I say without looking at her.
"Oh! There you are Leah!" she cheered. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"
I forced a smile and looked up at her. "The one and only! But why look for me?" I asked.
"Well...a lot of things actually, but if you're busy..."
"No! I'm not busy at all!" I start to get up until I realize Snowy's on my lap. I carefully pick her up and put the owl to the side near the window.
"Oh cool!" Olivia smiled. I could tell she was happy.
"Guys! This spot is good!" Olivia calls out. A moment later, I see Harry and his friends the compartment door. I sighed as they came in.
"Hey! Thanks for letting us sit-" Ron started talking, but Hermione elbowed him.
"Is it okay if we sit here?" she asked, glaring at Ron.
"Sure!" I giggle.
"Thanks, Leah! Every other compartment is full, so it's good we found you." Harry said with a smile. Olivia sat down on my side while the others sat on the other side, with Harry in the middle. I was in the middle as well, Snowy and Olivia on either side of me.
"So what did you guys do this past week?" I asked wanting to start a conversation.
"Oh...the normal I guess." Harry shivered. That's when I noticed there was a line of dried blood coming down the side of his face.
"Omg Harry!" I half yelled. I took his hand and dragged him out of the compartment, shutting the door. "What happened Harry?" I asked with a confused look.
"Oh, you didn't hear...did you?" Harry replied with a sigh.
"Of course not Harry! If you didn't know, I was in Myrtle's bathroom the whole time. Why would I know?"
"You were Myrtle's bathroom!?"
"Well Duh! Didn't you notice I was gone the past week and a half?" I didn't wait for Harry to reply. Instead, I half opened the compartment door. "Snowy!" I called out to my bird who had just woken from a nap.
"What do you want Leah?" Snowy asked with an annoyed tone. I just rolled my eyes.
"Stop being so cranky. Do you mind getting me my health box in my bag?" I said. Harry and his friends still didn't know I could understand animals, so they had a confused look.
"Fine!" Snowy answered. She quickly went into my bag and with her claws, pulled out a white box that was the size of a basketball.
"Thanks!" I said retrieving it from her. I then took Harry by the hand and we went to my secret spot on the train. If you didn't know, I found an invisible doorway on the train in my first year. The doorway was the very back of the train, farther than the compartment I was in.
