Hogwarts Meets Voltron

2: Houses, Houses, Houses

When the train came to a stop, Hunk led the way off the train and over to Hagrid, who was yelling, "Firs' years this way! Firs' years this way!"

"Everyone 'ere? Good! Now four to a boat! Only four!" He told everyone in his booming voice.

The four newly found friends got into a boat, they all jumped when the boats started moving.

"Wow" Gasped the students as Hogwarts came into view.

"Now students, this is where the barrier round Hogwarts starts!" Boomed Hagrid, as they saw a shimmering glow in front of them.

As their boat passed through the barrier, the four friends where shocked at the magic they could feel. It was like an overload of magic was pouring on them and all they could do was sit there in awe.

But then the boats docked and the moment was over.
"This way!" Hagrid said, leading the students up the winding path.

'That was so weird!' thought Lance, still in a daze about what just happened.

"I know right? Like what even was that!?" Said Hunk, who then paused when he realized the other three were looking at him. "What? Lance asked a question so I answered."

Lance looked at him like he was crazy, "I thought a question to myself, how did you hear it?"

Hunk looked confused, "You... Thought that to yourself... And I heard it!? What!?" He exclaimed

"I heard it too." Said Keith, followed shortly by Pidge, who said "same here., What should we do about it?"

Before any of the others could reply, they reached a door, which Hagrid knocked on. It was opened a few seconds later by a woman.

"These the first years, Hagrid?" Asked the lady, looking at the children.

"Indeed they are, McGonagall." Replied Hagrid, also looking at the students.

"Welcome, now let's go. No time to waste, this way." She says, starting to lead the students through the castle.

After stopping the children in front of two large doors, she says, "Now wait here for the sorting." Then she walked into the hall behind the doors.

"O my gosh I can't wait to be sorted!" Yelled a random student, "me neither!" "What if I don't get sorted!?" "Wonder how big the library is?" Was heard from the students, who promptly quieted when the doors opened.

Suddenly everyone was walking inside, staring in awe at the floating candle, the students at the four long tables.

"-And now for the sorting!" Said McGonagall before calling names, places the sorting hat onto kids heads and watching them run off to their house tables.

"Garrett, Hunk!" Hunk nervously walked up to the stool and sat down. McGonagall put the hat on his head, and suddenly Hunk felt a presence in his mind.

'Hmm, where to put you... I see you have a good brain, you are extremely loyal.... It's gonna have to be.'

"HUFFLEPUFF!" The hat yelled out loud, making Hunk smile, and his table cheer. He started speed walking away before remembering the hat on his head.

McGonagall smiled at him, then called another person. Lance smiled at Hunk, giving him thumbs up an receiving a smile in return.

"Holt, Katie!" Called McGonagall, startling Pidge out of her shocked state of staring around the Hall.

Pidge walked up and sat down on the stool, McGonagall placed the hat on her head.

'Hmm.. the smart of a Ravenclaw... Yes yes... Theres also cunning, loyalty... A desire to prove yourself...Yes, it'll have to be,'

"SLYTHERIN!" Shouted the hat, making the Slytherin table cheer, and Lance smile at Pidge who smirked back.

"Kogane, Keith!" Shouted McGonagall, and Keith walked up to the stool, sat down and had the hat placed on his head.

'hmm, an interesting case... You have the cunning of a Slytherin but also the bravery and brashness of a Gryffindor... You could also be Ravenclaw... Oh, I know!'

"GRYFFINDOR!" Yelled the hat, making the Gryffindor table cheer. Lance cheered to, before stopping, and realizing he was the only one of the new students cheering.

A few more students were called before, "McClain, Lance!" Was heard.
Lance made his way up to the stool, trying to not let his nerves show.

'Another interesting one... You have the loyalty of a Hufflepuff, the brains of a Ravenclaw, the cunning of a Slytherin, and the bravery of a Gryffindor... You have a desire to prove yourself... Yes, you think you should be in Gryffindor, but I know where you belong... It'll have to be,'

"RAVENCLAW!" Yelled the hat, shocking the four new friends. Lance slowly got up and walked to the Ravenclaw table, faking a smile to his friends.

A few more students were called and finally the sorting was over, and McGonagall said her speech before finishing with, "LET THE FEAST BEGIN!"

Everyone dug in instantly. Lance, Hunk, Pidge, and Keith happily unaware of the craziness the next few months and years would hold.
