Lucas's manor really was wonderful. It was bigger than mine for one, was home to what I expected to be other vampires and it was just so warm and inviting.

Beautifully drawn paintings hung on the walls and decorative chandeliers hung from the ceiling. The kitchen looked like something out of Hells Kitchen, an area big enough to have a whole team of chefs.

I sat down on one of the red stools and placed my hands on the granite counters.

"What do you want to eat?" Lucas asked as he looked into the fridge.

"Hmmmm." I hadn't thought about that yet.

"How about I make you a crepe?" he suggested.

"Okay! Can I have coffee too?" he looked back at me with a wide smirk when I said that.

"Sure." I stuck my tongue out at him. I busied myself with looking around while he made my breakfast.

"Are the other people that live here vampires?"

"Yup. They're all a part of my clan."

"Is your clan the only one?"

"Nope. There's one clan in at least each state and in other countries. Mine, or my fathers, happens to be here in Colorado."

"Oh. Are they friendly?"

"Who?"

"The people in your clan."

"Yes. Everyone is friendly, and we are family in some type of way; even by cousins."

"Woof!" I looked down to my feet to see Lucas's dog Cotton sitting by my feet.

"Aren't you cute?" I picked her up and sat her on my lap; stroking her soft fur.

"You're small compared to Lucario." I told her. She blinked her big eyes at me and I couldn't stop the big smile that spread across my face.

"You've already made a friend. Cotton is just as much family as anyone else here." he told me. He finished my crepe and set it in from of me before taking Nutella from the cabinet and and apple from a basket on the counter.

I watched him cut up the apples into slices as I spread the Nutella onto the crepe. Lucas laid the apple slices on top of the crepe and then folded it over.

"Wash your hands. You don't want dog hair on your food." he instructed as he poured coffee into a mug. I obediently went over to the sink and washed them. Lucas was licking Nutella off a spoon when I turned back around.

"What? It's good." he said with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Why don't you make one for yourself?" I told him before biting into mine.

"Mmmm." a pleasure filled sound left me as the flavors blended in my mouth.

"Watching you eat is just fine." he responded. The mug was set in front of me. I looked into his eyes for a minute but had to look away.

"What?" he said.

"Don't watch me eat."

"Why not?"

"It's embarrassing. It makes me feel like there's something on my face or that there's food stuck in my teeth." he laughed at that.

"There's nothing in your teeth, I promise." he assured me. I ate at a leisurely pace and drank my coffee. Lucas had put a bit of whipped cream on top while I wasn't watching. It got on my top lip and I licked it off. He waited patiently for me to finish before washing the dishes.

'I wonder just how fast he is.' I slipped from the stool and out the door. I ran down the hallway; slipping a little in my pajamas but not falling.

"Riley?!" I laughed as I saw him peek his head around the corner; just as I jumped off the top of the stairs. In a blur, Lucas had caught me in his arms.

"Are you crazy?" he set me down.

"No." I jumped off the next landing. He caught me again.

"That's dangerous."

"But you have vampire speed, right? So it should be alright." I skipped down the next few steps and then slid down the railing. Lucas picked me up in his arms once I reached the bottom.

"That's enough of that."

"Aww, killjoy." I pouted and rested against him. To tell the truth, I was still tired. After such a traumatizing experience, I had woken up pretty early. Cotton was walking alongside us; her little tail wagging.

"How about we do something not dangerous so you can heal better." it was more of a statement than a question so knew I had no choice but to agree.

"Can we watch movies?"

"Sure. Let's see what's on." he walked us to the living room where Carter was sitting down.

"Yo." he greeted us, looking back from the soft looking couch he was sitting on.

"Any good movies on?"

"I was just about to check." I snuck up next to him and took the remote.

"Hey!" I stuck my tongue out at him, and clicked to check the guide.

"The fox and the hound is on!" I said; not giving either of them any response time before I selected it and the channel switched. I heard Carter groan so I shushed him.

"Seriously? In my own house?"

"It's what she wants." Lucas told him.

"I'll go make some popcorn." carter sighed in defeat and stood up. I crossed my legs and sat quietly as the movie started.

Halfway into the movie I was crying.

"It's just a movie." said Carter.

"No it's not!" there was my accent again.

"It's sad because she raised the fox since he was a baby. And now she has to take him back to the woods where he belongs." I blubbered; wiping my eyes with the palms of my hands.

"Nice one Carter." said Lucas sarcastically as he pulled me closer into his side.

"I try." he retorted. Lucas flipped the remaining popcorn from the bowl into his face and in his hair.

"Very mature." he said. I sniffed and then giggled. The two looked at me and then were silent for the rest of the movie.

Lucas POV

I felt a tug on my sleeve as the movie ended. I looked down to Riley.

"I'm hungry." she told me. So cute.

"Well then lets get some lunch."

We ended up baking a pizza, and I had a head full of flour.

"Watch the pizza for me. I'm gonna go wash my hair." Riley looked hesitant but nodded anyways. I wasn't going to be the far away; just down the hall. I met my brother on the way back.

"Dads really pissed."

"I know. He hasn't told the Royals has he?"

"No. He wouldn't do that, knowing that Riley is your mate. But It would be like him to do some investigating on her." I sighed.

"Okay."

"Hang in there." he said patting my shoulder. I nodded and then continued on to the kitchen. There was no need for my father to do an investigation on Riley. She wasn't dangerous or anything. She has this huge interest in vampires even though she's hesitant around people sometimes. It takes her a while warm up to people but once she likes you, you can learn a lot about her.

When I entered the kitchen I was greeted by a heart warming sight. Riley was conversations with two familiar looking vampire children, and let them braid her long hair. I smiled widely and walked closer to them. Riley was the first to notice me; turning her eyes towards me.

"Lucas." at the mention of my name the two little girls turned towards me; their blue eyes shining. They both ran towards me and jumped into my arms at the same time.

"Uncle LuLu!"
