NEWT'S BEDROOM, MORNING

"I'm coming with you," Tina insisted.

Newt closed the latch of his suitcase once he was sure he had everything. "No, you're not. You're staying here with Jacob and you're going to keep trying to lift the enchantment he's under."

"We've tried everything, Newt! Nothing is working!"

"If necessary, Bunty will come tomorrow to check on the creatures and to feed them."

Tina frowned. "Who's Bunty?"

"She's my assistant."

"Well how about you stay here and look after the creatures yourself, while I go with Dumbledore?"

"No. I don't want you getting hurt."

"I'm an auror, I've dealt with these things before. I don't want you getting hurt out there, while I have to stay."

"I'll do my best to not get hurt, Tina," He said, "besides, you probably know more about enchantments than I do. Just keep trying to lift Jacob's enchantment."

Tina sighed. "Fine," She murmured in defeat.

"Take care."

"You too. And, Newt?"

"Yes?"

"Please stay safe. Don't underestimate him."

"I won't, I'll be fine. Take care of Jacob for me."

"Sure."

Newt hesitated, then gently took a loose strand of hair and pushed it behind her ear. Tina smiled.

"I'm sorry, I have to go, now," He reluctantly said, "Dumbledore doesn't want me to be late."

"Okay, then," She murmured, the smile fading from her face.

One last look at her, and he left.

"Bye, Newt," Jacob called from his bedroom, "have fun on your holiday in Grindelwald!"

"I will," He replied. He then headed out of his house, suitcase in hand.

HOGWARTS CASTLE, 7:10 AM

Newt rounded the corner of the corridor to see Dumbledore waiting outside the Room of Requirements. "Are you ready?"

He nodded in response.

"Keep your wand in hand," Dumbledore advised as he pushed open the large door and they entered.

Newt followed him past piles of discarded items that had been stowed in here. Tattered robes, old school books, unwanted homework and even bags of money were among the items in the room.

When they reached a large, intricately-patterned dark green cabinet, Dumbledore lit his wand tip. The sound of the cabinet door opening echoed eerily in the cabinet as if it was much larger on the inside. The two men stepped inside and closed the door behind them.

Dumbledore's wand illuminated a long, cold, stony corridor.

"Where are we?" Newt asked.

"This is the place where I found the memory of the Chamber of Secrets. Also where Grindelwald took Minerva."

"A memory of the Chamber of Secrets?"

"Before Grindelwald arrived, I found a memory on a table just up ahead. In the memory, there was a man who was raising a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. Slytherin's monster is a basilisk. Now, I take it you've heard of the attacks in the school?"
