Season Two: Episode 5

Alister took a step back from the memories in his mind. He turned around and saw nothing but darkness. "What was that?" He asked the darkness.

"Why did you show me that?" Alister asked once more.

A mace shot out of the dark abyss. It flew to a figure, a young boy with bat wings. The scars on his leathery skin reflections of Alister's. In his hands, he clutched the bright mace. The light a contrast of his looming ruby eyes.

"That is when you decided Deathstroke was our enemy." The boy answered. He turned to face Alister.

Alister flinched back. The little boy, it was him. It looked like him, moved like him, but something was different. His eyes were nothing more than metallic orbs and his voice, it was demonic.

"So, what are you going to do? Deathstroke isn't an easy man to find, and he's not easy to take down either." Alister said.

The boy chuckled. "If you weren't so obtuse, maybe you would've understood Lion-Mane's warning. Deathstroke, the Terminator, has returned. He broke Doctor Light and Doctor Sivana from prison on Vandal's word."

"With that information, I was able to surmise that Deathstroke is closer to Doctor Light than you fools believed. In fact, they're operating from the same base of operations."

"And where is that? How do you expect to find the base so easily? You don't have a team behind you on this." Alister argued.

The boy scoffed. "I'm not weak like you. I don't need a team for strength, I took my own strength."

"If I'm so weak, why did it take you this long to control me? Why did you save me in the first place."

"Your weakness is what called to me. Your trauma, like a sweet symphony. Every time you broke, you broke for me. I bonded to you." He explained.

"When the antimatter wave erased this plane from existence, you were the closest you've ever been. But you were taken from me by Supernova. Denying me what I've worked for since the Dawn of Existence itself." Said the boy with furious tears in his eyes. He

Alister looked to the right. In the darkness, he began to see faces and figures. Those flashes in his mind. They were actual memories. They just weren't his own.

"You we're making me remember..." Alister trailed. He reached out for the memories but they faded.

"No. I wasn't trying to help you remember, the Morning Star was. I imagine it was a clever hint from Nil."

Alister turned back to the boy. He was much closer now. So close that Alister could see the dark shimmer around him. He could see his face shifting in and out of the boy and the demon beneath.

He gulped. "What do you want with me?" He asked.

The boy turned slowly and said: "Your body. It will be mine when you break for good, all mine. Until then, I must protect us."

"Protect us how?" Alister asked. He looked away from the boy. His eyes struggled against the darkness blanketing them. He couldn't see a way out.
