(Y/n) woke up to what seemed like 100 missed messages. They started to read through them and realised that there was going to be a party at Sollux's tonight. They smiled to themself and started getting ready for school. (Y/n) tried to sneak downstairs unnoticed but got caught by James.
"So, where were you last night?" He smirked.
"Oh. Uh. Nowhere?" James laughed.
"Dad said you got home last night at 11pm looking flustered." (Y/n) gulped.
"Fuck. Uh, well, I was hanging out with a friend and lost track of time..."
"A friend huh? What's their name?"
"His name is Dave and before you ask, no. We aren't dating."
"Loser"
"Says you!" You huffed and walked away flicking James's ear on the way.

Sollux rushed up to (y/n).
"Are you coming to my party?" (Y/n) gave a lazy shrug.
"Probably." Sollux's face lit up. (Y/n) had to admit that he was definitely pretty cute but not their type. He smiled and waved then walked to his first class.

1 hour before the party

(Y/n) stood staring at their reflection in the mirror. They had tried on what felt like 20 different outfits then decided that baggy black cargo pants with a red turtleneck and a few chains here and there would work. (Y/n) quickly did their makeup then threw on their demonias. Of course they were nervous but it was just a party right? How bad could it be?

(Y/n) filled their bag with the essentials and rushed downstairs.
"Dad, Sollux is having a party and I'm staying with him tonight to help him clean up tomorrow!" (Y/n) said while grabbing an apple from the fridge then grabbing the car keys. He nodded.
"You can take the car if you promise to be careful!" (Y/n) nodded and hugged him then left.

It wasn't a very long drive but it was long enough to put on some sick beats! They turned on their good vibes playlist and drove to Sollux's.

No one was there yet which was a surprise. They parked then grabbed their bag and knocked on the door. Sollux flung it open.
"(Y/n)! Hey you're early?"
"Yeah I came to help you set up and is it cool if I stay the night to help you clean up tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure but KK and dave have taken the spare room so you might need to share with me or take the couch." (Y/n) nodded and went inside.

The place was nicely decorated with LED lights which flashed every colour imaginable. There was already music playing and some of the couches had been moved to make a dance floor. There was a beer keg and lots of soft drink and snacks. (Y/n) smiled and turned back to Sollux who was now standing in the kitchen.
"I'll share with you tonight if that's cool?"
He nodded and showed (y/n) to his room.

People quickly started to arrive. The sound of overly loud music and chatter filled the once quite house. (Y/n) walked around saying hi to people that was, until they saw Dave standing alone. They rushed over and smiled at him. He just glared back.

"What do you want (y/n)?"
"I was just coming to see hi? Why so moody?"
"No reason? Can you go away now? I'm waiting for Karkat and I don't want him getting jealous."
"Jealous of what? our friendship?" Dave scoffed.
"Yeah friendship keep telling yourself that" (Y/n) felt really hurt. They frowned and walked off. He had been really nice and open last night what had changed? Had Karkat found out? Did he realise you like him? So many questions we're running through their mind. Suddenly they bumped into someone.

"VWhat's vwrong doll?" (Y/n) looked up at the troll. He looked like someone out of grease.
"Shit sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you!"
The guy smiled and grabbed onto their hips. "I'm just glad it was someone as pretty as you" The mystery guy winked. His presence made (y/n) uncomfortable. Suddenly Sollux came over and grabbed their hand.
"Cronus what did I say about flirting with my partner?" (Y/n looked confused. "Just go along with it." he mumbled to them. They nodded and wrapped their arms around him pressing against him.
"Thanks honey."
"No problem babe." He leaned down and kissed (y/n)'s check and Cronus stormed off.

(Y/n) instantly let go of Sollux and glanced around. Dave looked like he was watching but fuck him. He seemed to noticed and pulled Karkat into a sloppy makeout session. The smaller troll wrapped his arms around Dave an deepened the kiss. Dave pressed him against the wall and grabbed his ass. (Y/n) watched in shock as their crush and best friend made out right near them. After a while they pulled away, a small trail of saliva connected the two. Dave smirked at (y/n) and that was all they saw.

Sollux has noticed (y/n) staring at the two and had pulled them onto the dance floor.
