Cassie's POV

I sit in shock as my mother walks off to go get something from the basement.

How can I be a witch and the daughter of the devil and not know about it for 16 years?

Part of me is mad at my mother from keeping all of this from me for so long. But I also understand that she did it to protect me.

As if on cue she walks back into the room with a very big box.

"What's that?" I ask

"This box is filled with everything you need to know about being a witch."she replies

She sets it down on the coffee table and rips off the lid.
The inside is filled with books and trinkets and many other unusual objects.

"Now before you meet your father I have to restore you with your powers. He wouldn't be happy if he found out that I have been repressing them for all these years."

"But won't he know anyways? I mean I know nothing about magic or being a witch so wouldn't he be able to tell?" I ask confused.

"That's what this is for" she says as she pulls out a glowing sapphire crystal out of the box.

"What's that?"

"It is a knowledge stone, it is filled with generations and generations of all our family's magical knowledge. Everything our coven has ever learned is inside this stone and I am going to give all of it to you"

"Wow just like that? I'm just gonna know everything there is to now about magic from some rock" I ask kind of sarcastically

" Yes just like that. Usually kids are sent to the Academy for learning but in this case there is no time, who knows what he has planned for you." She says worriedly "So are you ready?"

"Do I  really have a choice" I reply

She just smiles,
And with that she puts one hand on my left cheek, her other on the knowledge stone while she chants what sounds like Latin. And I peacefully fall asleep.

I wake up in a panic, my head pounding.
My mother is still sitting in front of me.

"How are you feeling" she asks

"Like a elephant is stomping around in my head" I say with an attitude.

"But do u feel different?"

And as soon as she says that and I remember what just happened. My whole body starts to tingle and every single piece of knowledge starts rushing through my head. I see thousands and thousands of book pages, moments in history, ancient artifacts and spells start flooding into my brain.

"Yea it definitely worked" I say still feeling nauseous.

"Okay good then it is time, it's already 1 o'clock, you must go" she says with tears in her eyes

"Mom why are u crying I'll be fine, I'll be back in time for dinner." I say reassuringly

"No sweetie you won't, he's come to take you with him."she says now falling into the couch in despair.

"What no that's not happening! I'm not going anywhere with him" I start out

" Stop it Cassie, you cant just tell the devil no, your his daughter he's come to collect on his deal. Now try to be good and make me proud." She says as she gets up and pulls me into a hug

I try to keep myself together for her but all I want to do is fall apart. I start sobbing into her but she quickly picks my head up, wipes my tears, and sends me out the door.

"Goodbye mother, I love you." I finally say as she closes the door behind me.
