Cassie's POV

After what feels like years of walking I finally reach my destination.

But there's one last obstacle in my way.
How am I going to get through the gates to his palace.

The whole place must be covered my a protection spell, because not a single one of my spells have worked.

I guess I'm just gonna have to do this the old fashion way.

I give myself a little bit of a boost with a rock standing beside it but I still can't reach, its way too tall.

After a minute of me still struggling I decided to walk to the back of the house.

I get to there and look around and luckily a tree is growing right over the wall.

I climb up the tree and hurl my self over it.

I jump down.

I look around expecting to see a demonic, dark, creepy castle but instead I'm amazed by a beautiful garden surrounding me and the gorgeous black and gold palace inside of it.

I walk to the side of the house and peer through the window.

The inside is covered heavily by guards.

There's no way I'm getting in there without some type of magic.

So I try a spell and to my surprise when I turn to look back into the window my reflection is gone. Good it worked, I am now completely invisible, I guess only the gate is protected from magic.

I wait for one of the guards to turn around and as soon as he does I quietly open the door and slide through it.
I creep down the long hallway searching or Caliban but he's no where to be seen.

He must me on the top floor.

After I walk up what feels like a thousand steps I reach the top.

I get up the last step and notice a huge door standing at the end of the hallway.

I walk down to it and crack it open, it's an incredible room, filled with statues and art hanging on the walls, the ceiling is a beautiful mural with a crystal chandelier hanging from it.
There is a king bed covered in silk red sheets with a black headboard. A big silk couch also sits in front of a grand fireplace and table.
The room is dark besides the glow of the fire and in the corner sitting in a gold throne like chair sits Caliban, reading what looks like a very old book.

"Didn't anyone tell you it's impolite to eavesdrop Princess?" He calls out as he looks up from his lap.

What, how can he see me I'm invisible?

I walk over and remove my glamour coming face to face with him.

"I'm not eavesdropping, how else was I supposed to get in here?"

"Oh I don't know maybe try knocking on the door." He replies sarcastically and lowers his head back into his book.

"Caliban listen I don't have time for your snarky little comments I have something very important to tell you." I say waiting for him to look up at me.

"Whatever you have to say Princess, can wait, now go home I'm a bit busy at the moment" he replies still keeping his head down.

"I'm serious Caliban, you really upset my father yesterday and he's going to come after you we need to find somewhere to hide." I say

"You think I'm afraid of Lucifer, please he's getting weaker and weaker with everyday, there's nothing he can do to me, know run along I've got some of those signatures to collect."

He tries to get up and push past me, but I put my hands up and slam him back into the chair, holding his hands up above him.

"Let me go Cassie I'm serious." He starts

"No Caliban you listen, I don't care how big and bad you think you are, my father is going to come for you, you don't understand how defensive he is about me and the throne, he's going to kill you and do everything in his power to get me that crown." I explain

"Why do you care, isn't that what you want?" He asks me.

"Yes I want the crown, but I'm going be fair about it, I don't care how my dad does things now, when I'm Queen things are going to change around here, and I'm not gonna let you die because of this stupid competition." I tell him

He picks his head up to mine and stares into my eyes, our faces now only inches apart,
"Cassie"
"Yes?"I say a little nervously.
"I don't need you trying to protect me, I'm a big boy I don't need some little princess coming to my rescue, now GET, OUT!" He goes on

"No."

"What do you mean no?" He asks as I see his face turning red with anger.

I can tell no ones ever been brave enough to stand up to him before.

"I mean no. I'm not going anywhere, you might think you have this handled but you don't. Yes Lucifer is getting weaker but he still has enough strength left, and he will not stop until you are dead. So, I'm not leaving here unless your coming with me." I say and cross my arms.

"Well I'm not going anywhere with you so your wasting your time." He replies

"Okay then, have it your way"

I walk across the room and open the door to what I see is his closet.

I pick out a black shirt and grey sweatpants and walk into the bathroom to change.

I then walk out now much more comfortable and lay down on his bed.

"Now what do you think you're doing?" He says as he walks over toward me.

I pick my head up a little bit and look at him.

"Well if you won't come with me, then I'm staying here with you. And there's nothing you can do to stop me."
I roll over on my side a smile to myself knowing I won.

And without even turning around I can already see that little smirk creeping across his face behind me.

He doesn't say a word as he climbs in on the other side of the bed. We both lay in silence while the glow of the fire slowly burns out, and we are left in complete darkness.

As I lay there thinking, i realize that my father will be furious when he finds out I missing from Pandemonium but right now, I don't have any other choice.
