The Prince of Hell

Chapter 14

Caliban's POV

I return upstairs after dealing with my sister and
walk down the hall and opening the doors to my room. I enter expecting to see Cassie sitting in my chair continuing to read the book she thinks I didn't see her take from my shelf but see that she is no where to be found.

I check the bathroom and the closet, still no sign of her.

I order the guards to search the rest of the castle but again, nothing.

"How could a 16 year old girl escape from one of the most highly secured places in all of Hell!! I shout at one of my guards "You were guarding the door, did you let her escape?!!"

"No sir, never would I ever do that sir, I'm so very sorry, she must have went out the window or something please believe me." He manages to spit out.

This dimwit has failed me one to many times today!

I scoff "We're on the highest level, don't be absurd peasant. Your not very good at lying, it had to have been you."

"No sir, you've got it all wrong I would never..."

Before he can finish his sentence my sword slices through his skin puncturing his heart. He falls to the ground blood spilling from his chest and mouth.

"Someone come clean up this mess." "NOW!!" I yell

Two more guards approach and carry off his body leaving me alone once again.

I walk back into my room and peer out the window just incase there was any sign of her. But, still she was gone, destined to return back home and tell her father about everything that happened here.
Sure enough Lucifer would be knocking on my door any moment, threatening to rip off my head.

But a couple hours soon passed and the castle was strangely quite,

Maybe she didn't tell him, I think to myself,  but why?  She still wants peace that badly?

I decide that I will deal with it when I return to Pandemonium tomorrow , but first, I have a few more signatures I need to collect today.

Cassie's POV

Knock, knock

"Cassie are you awake?" Lilith calls from the door.

I lift up my head and look at her "Well now I am, could you be any louder?" I say

She rolls her eyes and walks over to my bed.

"Hurry child get up. I've brought you some breakfast, now you need to get ready for the day, your father is expecting you in the main hall in half an hour or so."

"For what" I ask

"That's for you to discuss with your father, now eat and take a shower, I'll see you in a bit."

As she walks out a group of butlers pull in a cart with my breakfast.

I decide to eat the classic bacon and eggs with pancakes, but as I'm eating I start to tear up.

These are just like what my mother used to make for me, what she made the last time I saw her.

I brush away the thoughts,
I'm the Queen of Hell now, my human life is over, and I will probably never see my mother or my friends again. No need to dwell of the past. I try to convince myself.

I finish eating and walk over to my closet.

I pick out tight black leather pants and a red long sleeve shirt with lace lining the top. Paired with , yes you guessed it my favorite black leather jacket. For shoes I throw on red high heels and then make my way to the bathroom.

Once I'm showered and changed, I curl my hair giving it natural beach waves, and throw on a little makeup.

I decide I'm ready so I open my doors and start heading toward the main hall to meet with my father.
It's been a little more than 30 minutes but you know, beauty takes time, he can't be too mad.

I walk into the main hall and unexpectedly see all of Hells Disciples standing below.

What are they doing here? I wonder

"Ahh there she is, finally" my father says with the fakest smile I've ever seen.

I walk over to him and bow, but as I'm about the stand up he stops me and whispers in my ear.

"Don't make this a habit, if the disciples don't think your taking this serious they will never approve of you, no more being late, understand?"

"Yes father" I sigh "It won't happen again."

He then turns and his smile reappears as he starts to say,

"Welcome all, today is a very special day, as you know my daughter Cassie MorningStar is in line to take my seat on the throne as your Queen, today she will prove herself worthy as she accomplishes her first task."

First task? What task no one told me anything about this?

"Cassie will prove herself worthy as she returns to Earth and claims her first soul to bring back to Hell." My father finishes

The crowd cheers and all eyes turn to me, expecting me to say something.
Problem is I have no idea what's going on or what that even means so I say,
"Yes today I will claim my first soul and bring it back to Hell, and I promise you all you will not be disappointed."
And the crowd cheers louder

"And so it is decided. Cassie come with me." He walks me into a room off to the right and says

"Do you know your task?"

"No not really." I confess

"Today you will return to Earth, we have a book of all the mortals that have sold there soul to me, your job is find one who's contract has expired and to bring there soul back here to Hell."  He says and hands me the book.

"Wait you want me to kill somebody?" I exclaim "Absolutely not, I can't do that are you crazy!"

"Foolish girl, your the Queen of Hell death is a given, I thought you knew that, besides their going to die anyways all you have to do is be there when they do and carry their soul back here to Pandemonium."

"Well okay, I guess that seems simple enough." I reply still unsure.

"Perfect now when I take you back out there you will need to teleport yourself back to earth in front of the disciples it will show them your confidence, now do you know the spell?"

I scan my mind and find the correct spell.

"Yes"

"Okay let's go"he says as he grabs my hand  and we walk back into the main hall.

"Disciples, I give you Cassie MorningStar!"

On cue I say "Suscipe me in terrum" and I'm soon engulfed in a ring of fire.
