Thanks so much for reading Abyss!
What a wild ride!!! We saw Nicolas become a king, we lost a bunch of friends and then he got married. Now Helen claims she can travel through time...? Hmmm....
Abyss was one of the harder books of the series to write, I feel like I say that after every book LOL but this one was for real. There are some things that might not make it to the final cut and some things I think I want to add but I'm pretty happy with how it went.
What do you think about Helen?
Is she telling the truth?
Is she actually from the future?
What do you think she wants help with?If you were Nicolas would you help her?
The next book, Artifice, is gearing up to be a wild ride and I'm so excited to start writing it <3 The outline has me really excited and I'm hoping I can do this storyline justice!
Thank you all so much for reading Abyss. <3
Q/A-
Did Nicolas and Fillipa have sex?
Yes.
Will Nicolas ever 'top' Verando?
You know, this question always surprises me. I don't want to say no but I don't think it's what either of them wants. Verando struggles enough with his identity as it is, I don't think he could ever relax enough to enjoy it and I think Nicolas would end up feeling bad. I think the most we see in that aspect is that Nic has really come out of his shell and has started taking command in some instances.
Who was the hardest death in this book?
Hmmmmm.... I think Haryek. Haryek was the one I loved to hate and he was so fun to write for but it felt like it was time. It felt right to turn him into an 'anti-hero'.
What's with the Mafia and the Church? Was Corina in the Mafia?
Making the 'mafia' the villain behind all this was something I had thought about for a long time. Corina was not a part of the mafia. I think that when the Lord of magic became 'sick', there was a void of power and room for this group to come in and quietly take over for the people. If you notice, the 'Mafia' live among the people, employ a large number of people and do a lot of trading of goods and services. Verando, himself, was a very low status before joining and then ended up becoming quite powerful before the lycans were enslaved. It wrote itself together that the church would be holding hands with the mob, making sense as these people feel they are doing gods work and policing themselves. If you notice, the women at the brothel were happy, well fed and well kept. The workers generally feel a sense of family, even with Mr.Balan threatening death for their lack of loyalty, even Verando calls him 'Mr.'Balan. While I don't think they're EVIL, I think any group gets frightened when someone threatens to come and blow it all apart. Why is everyone in the mafia? We're in war times and money is tight, they offer high pay for high risk and unfortunately, they have to clean house when people try and jump ship!
Who's your favorite female character?
Fillipa. She's is very righteous and strong, she is exactly what a matriarch should be like. Running a tight ship and looking classy AF doing it! After Fillipa would have been Zsophia.
Is Verando a fan of 'thick' girls?
Verando frequently talks about, in relation to women, their breast size. Yes, Verando is a fan of what we would call 'thic'. Even though Nicolas isn't the beefiest man in the world, Marisol had plenty of curves and was not the skinniest. He frequently turns his nose up at slender women, comparing them to men. Even Red was thicker and you notice she got the farthest with him. Roksana as well. You might also remember that he does try and feed Nicolas as often as he can and comments on him looking 'healthy'.
Did I miss any questions you want answered?
