Driving at the speed of light, Arnav felt his adrenaline pump through his veins. He had so harshly lashed out at Khushi. The rage that blinded him stopped him from hearing or understanding anything coming out of her mouth.
He had kept quiet when the whole family was neglecting her, when she was told to stay away from Anjali as if she was the biggest threat for her and as if she would hurt her, when Mami kept throwing disgusting remarks at her, when everybody kept saying that it was her fault that everything bad was happening because of her although some people decided to keep quiet but their silence gave Khushi the whole insight of what they actually thought of her. He had kept quiet through all that and decided not to defend her.
He kept driving, trying to get rid of the flashbacks of his sister trying to abort her baby. This was a nightmare, an ugly nightmare which was unfortunately real.
His sweet Khushi, his cute childlike wife. She had risked her life to save his. He always thought as to why she would do that. Hadn't he hurt her enough? Given her enough pain? And why would she try giving wrong advice to his sister? He remembered her whispering while he was lashing out at her that she went to di's room to give her food.
REGRET! That's what he felt right now. He regretted it so bloody much. He had said so many harsh things during his outburst. He didn't even realize what he was saying, his mind was so blinded by the hurt, the images of his di trying to hurt her child.
He suddenly remembered her losing her balance and falling on the floor, letting out an agonized moan, and what was that thud sound? He didn't even pay attention to that.
Oh no did she get badly hurt? Did I really hurt her that bad?
He reversed his car and rushed back home.
Running to his room, he found her emotionlessly sitting near the poolside cleaning her hand with an antiseptic. Why is she doing that, he thought. There was silence, pin drop silence which he once always asked for but now despised.
"Khushi?" He called out in a low voice.
When he didn't get any reply he marched towards her.
"What are you-" his voice caught in his throat.
And then he saw a deep painful cut on the side of her hand. It was bleeding. She was bleeding, she was in pain.
He was nothing but a beast. A damaged beast who kept hurting his beauty without an accurate reason.
"Khushi!" He held her arm up to see and soothe her pain which she immediately snatched away.
"Khushi yeh kaisay hua?" He asked in an agonizingly soft voice. (How did this happen?)
Khushi didn't want to hide under the bush and lie, hence she told the truth.
"Aapne jab hume dhaka diya toh woh table se haath lag gaya tha." She answered softly. (When you pushed me, my hand scratched against the table.)
"Khushi please mujhe dekhnay do. I'm really sorry, you know I didn't mean it." (Khushi please let me see.)
"Haan pata hai mujhe. Aapse chot khanay ki aadat ho chuki hai mujhe." (Yes I know that very well! I'm used to getting hurt by you now.)
"Khushi please mainey kaha na I'm sorry! Tum toh jaanti hona kay jab mein gusay mein hota hun I say things that I don't mean. Now let me see." He said (Khushi I said I'm sorry! You know I say horrible things when I'm angry but I don't mean them.)
He then lifted her hand and started cleaning the wound. Khushi didn't even flinch or let out a hiss because the pain in her heart was much more painful than this mere cut. She just sat there silent and emotionless.
Her silence was something that always scared Arnav because he knew the problem is rather too big or the hurt inflicted upon her is too much to handle for her soft delicate heart. Arnav couldn't understand, he couldn't figure out how to settle this mess. He didn't want to hurt Khushi but he just couldn't help it. It was too much to handle.
He cupped her beautiful sad face in his hand, pain prominently evident on her face.
"Khushi please mujhe maaf kardo. Please I didn't mean anything I said. Please just say
something." (Khushi please forgive me.)She composed her self and looked at him.
"Arnavji theek kaha tha aapney kay agar mein apki life mein nahi aati toh yeh sab na hota. Isiliye yehi theek hoga kay mein buaji kay ghar chali jaon. Nani ji ne bhi kaha tha kay yehi acha hoga kay mein di kay paas mat jaon issiliye mainey faisla kar liya hai kay main abhi buaji kay ghar chali jaongi aur please aap yeh mat sochiye ga kay main gusa ho ker jaa rahi hun, main sab ki aur apni bhalai kay liye jaa rahi hun." She declared. (You were right Arnavji! If I wouldn't have come in your life all of this wouldn't have happened. That's why it's good that I leave for aunt's house now. Your grandmother too said I should stay away from Anjali. So that's why I have made a decision to leave. And please don't think I'm leaving because im angry. I'm leaving for everybody's and mine wellness.)
"Contract khatam honay se pehley kaisay jaogi hmm?" He spoke and his facial expressions changed from soft to anger. (How will you go before the contract expiration?)
"Do you still think about the contract even after we've been through so much? I was so wrong to think that you've changed aur waisay bhi kya ker lain gay agar main chali bhi gayi, zabardasti karein gay, court mein ley ker jayengay kay mainey aapka contract toda?" She said. (What will you do huh? Will you mishandle me, take me to court just because I broke your contract.)
"Tum janti ho main Kya karun ga. You know very well what I'm capable of and what I can do! Wohi karun ga jo tumhe already pata hai, Akash ko Payal sey alag karnay kay liye force karun ga aur aajkal ghar mein itni problems hai from which Payal and Akash too aren't really happy together. Mujhe thoda sa akash ko force karna padega and then will Payal be out of his life." He replied. (You know what I can do. I'll do exactly what I told you. Break Akash and Payal's marriage. For him to leave her.)
She looked at him with misty vulnerable eyes.
"Nafrat kartein hain hum aapse aap kabhi Kisi dusray ka dukh samaj hi nahi sakte." She screamed. (I hate you! You never understand the pain of another person)
"Theek hai phir jab tak yeh contract poora nahi ho jata main kahin nahi jaungi lekin agar kisi nay mujhe khud keh kay iss ghar se nikala toh tab aap uss insaan ko na hi rook sakte ho aur na mujhe janey sey." Saying this she looked at him dead in the eyes and walked out of the room. (Well ok then! I won't go anywhere till this contract ends! But if I'm forced to leave you yourself have no right to either stop me.)
Arnav was scared. Scared of the girl that had just declared some words which had left his heart shattered. She was the light in his life, she was this beautiful young soul which he had slowly but surely started loving. How could he just let her go? It hurt him immensely by hurting her but this was the only way she would stay. He knew nothing, what was wrong, what was right wasn't making any sense to him at this moment. He looked and felt like such a lost soul. He needed Khushi beside him for his happiness but everything was just so complicated right now. He couldn't understand a thing.

On the side of the house was Anjali a whole other mess. With her mind full of pains, sorrows and depression. It was the severe depression that led her to almost harm her child. Everything and almost everyone would just trigger her at this very time except her Shyamji. Therefore, her impatient pregnancy hormones led her to pick up the phone and call her beloved Shyamji. He picked up after just a single ring.
"Hello!" She spoke.
"Rani Sahiba kaisi hain aap?" His sweet fake voice instantly calmed her tensed nerves.
"Aap please kal subah hotay hi yahan aa jaiye ga. I don't care what everybody thinks or says I just need you here beside me." She pleaded. (You please come here as soon as possible in the morning.)
"Theek hai Rani Sahiba, I'll be there as soon as I can in the morning." He hung up and his lips formed into a wicked evil smirk. He was getting back in the castle.
