𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 19: 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

Night time descended in New Domino City, and within the KaibaCorporation. The president of the company, Seto Kaiba, looked through his window from a high point of his building. Viewing the city with a serious look on his face. That was until somebody knocked on his door, prompting him to close his eyes.
Kaiba: "Enter."
The person outside heeded his call, so they open the door and entered his office. It was his Chief Operating Officer Dante Leonhardt. Kaiba reopens his eyes and using the reflection from his window, he sees Dante.
"Are the preparations complete?"
Dante: "Yes Mr. President, everything is ready."
Kaiba: "And your team?"
Dante: "They've been assembled and are waiting outside."
Kaiba turned around to face Dante, maintaining his serious demeanor as he prepared to meet his team.
Kaiba: "Send them in."
Dante nodded his head, acknowledging his order and ordering his team to enter Kaiba's office. The first one that entered was a woman with long black hair wearing a biker outfit. In spite of her appearance, the woman greets the president respectfully.
Samantha: "Pleasure to meet you President Kaiba, I'm Samantha Leonhardt. Dante's wife and Dueling Instructor of New Domino's Sector Security."
Kaiba takes his eyes off her for a moment to see Dante.
Kaiba: "How skilled is she?"
Dante: "As skilled as a Professional Duelist Mr. President. She specializes in Turbo Duels and is not one to hold back, even against rookies."
Kaiba retracts his focus to Samantha, even though he wasn't showing it through his face. He was pleased that Dante brought someone like her in his team.
Kaiba: "Don't show these Duelists any mercy."
Samantha: "Of course sir."
With that said, the next member of Dante's team stepped into Kaiba's office. He was much younger than Dante's wife, having violet hair with two white bangs sticking downwards. Much like Samantha, the young man respectfully greets Kaiba.
Ren: "Nice to meet you President Kaiba, I'm Ren Taiyuji. I don't have any feats as amazing as Samantha here, but..."
Ren clenched out his fist and gives the president a confident smile.
"I'll help out anyway I can if it'll help out society."
Kaiba wasn't satisfied by his response, he was expecting him to have some useful benefits for being chosen by Dante.
Kaiba: "Actions speak louder than words kid, if I personally had to pick people that would benefit my cause. You wouldn't have a place with me."
Ren was shocked to hear how brutally honest Kaiba was about him, I mean sure he wasn't lying when he mentioned about not any spectacular feats like Samantha. But to hear the president mention how useless he would've been left a bad taste in his mouth. So Ren dropped the smile and looked at Kaiba more seriously.
Ren: "I'll prove you wrong, watch me!"
Kaiba was surprised by this, seeing a completely different side to Ren than when he introduced himself. His eyes looked serious sure, but deep down they also harbored some hatred too. It left Kaiba smiling a little, he liked this side of Ren because it reminded him of himself. But that smile quickly faded when the last member of Dante's team entered his office. And Kaiba wasn't happy to see who it was, in fact he was disgusted. The last member was a man with white and blue hair, he also had a criminal mark on forehead. The man smirks at Kaiba with arrogance, showing disrespect to the president.
???: "Long time no see Kaiba, did you miss me?"
Kaiba: "Reijin Koizuma!"
Kaiba lost his composure when Reijin spoke to him like that, he clenched his fists and looked at him furiously. However, he quickly turned his attention Dante instead, and rightfully so. After all Dante was the one who recruited him into his team.
"Why is he here?! Have you forgotten what he's done to detriment my company?!"
As furious as Kaiba was, Dante maintained his composure as he answers the president's questions honestly.
Dante: "I have not forgotten Mr. President, and I understand that you could never forgive him after what he's done. But I have reason to believe that he could know the mastermind behind these city wide attacks."
Kaiba: "How can you be so certain?"
Dante: "After carefully doing some research on when these attacks started occurring. I came to the conclusion that it started right after Reijin was arrested. Because when he was around, Duelists from his gang Enigma only attacked other Duelists within Heartland. But after his gang disbanded, I speculated that some of these Duelists weren't happy with his arrest. Additionally these Duelists possess Number cards, and who was the original creator of those cards?"
Kaiba didn't want to admit it, but Dante made a valid point. And when he saw how Reijin played a big role in all of these events. He began to calm down a bit, looking seriously once again at Dante.
Kaiba: "Fine! But for your sake he'd better not cause any trouble. Otherwise you'll find yourself without a job."
Dante: "Rest assured Mr. President, he'll cooperate."
Reijin yawned lightly as the two finished their conversation, clearly showing he was bored just from standing around.
Reijin: "Are we done now?"
As disgusted as Kaiba was seeing Reijin displaying such disrespect in his presence. He kept his cool and looked at all of them seriously.
Kaiba: "This tournament will put a stop to all this madness, failure is not an option."
Everybody except for Reijin looked seriously at the president and bowed to him. Acknowledging what he said to heart and vowing to live up to his expectations once the Grand City Tournament begins.
