I shifted in my seat with my hands dangling the embered cigarette out of my fingers grasp. Loosely, I lifted the filter to my mouth and inhaled lazily as I looked up at the dank New England sky. I shivered and wrapped the sheep wool blanket closer around me as I blew the smoke out of the adjacent partially opened window. I was definitely not used to this cold New England Weather.
My name is Paige McManus and I was born in Mableton, GA. It was a typical small southern town, with a population of less than 10,000. Sure the summers were nice and hot and er, sweaty and humid. I lived there for my whole life and until recently when I finished my bachelors degree at the University of Georgia for Communications. I ended up finding a job outside of Georgia at a large advertising firm in Boston. With my career taking off at 28 years old, I had no choice but to move. In fact I was really ready to get out of Georgia and start my own life. I mean, I have been living with my family for practically 28 years. I definitely loved being independent and starting off fresh. No rules. Nothing!
I padded over to the kitchen after gently shutting the window. My landlord did not like a lot of noise in this apartment building. I'm guessing a lot of kids that lived here in the past were students at a few of the colleges in the city and would rather party and drink and play music all night. I was happy it was always quiet here all the time. I was really happy it was quiet.
I pulled out a bowl and a bag of rice, fresh cilantro, hot sauce, some tortilla shells, fresh cheese and a lb. of chicken. Burritos were definitely on the list for dinner tonight..

"And cut!" Troy Duffy yelled out. the scene was just wrapping up in a small Boston Irish Bar on Union Street. Outside the bar college kids frequented the cobble stoned streets. School had just got out for the thanksgiving break. It definitely was busy and the bar was all people were talking about. Luckily that bar had plenty of security in the area for the filming.Norman Reedus stepped outside for a cigarette with Sean Patrick Flannery following close behind through a back way. Norman thumbed out a long thin Parliament and placed it against his thin chapped lips and took a drag. His blue eyes, under his long brown hair looked over at Sean who was leaning against the ancient brick Boston building.
"I can't believe this shit is happening I've been waiting years to shoot this film, man" Norman cocked a small smirk.
"Dude I know and I can't wait to see what happens I mean I've had meetings with Troy and the man is a fucking Genious!" Sean grinned.
"What do you wanna do after we finish this scene?" Norman asked stamping out his cigarette on the cobblestone below. Sean looked at him.
"It's fucking Friday dude we gotta go out and celebrate our first week of shooting! Beer and dinner I say somewhere!"
"That sounds like a plan to me!" Norman said and smiled. "I gotta call Mingus at 7 or whenever we are done though" He sighed and looked up at the stars. "I miss him so much. Helena is looking after him for a few weeks" he said her name like it was poison on his lips.
Sean looked at him admiring the love he had for his son and ignoring how Norman felt about Helena. Not many people liked her at all but unfortunately she was Normans sons mom.
"I know I know I wish that little dude was here too!" Sean said.
"I might try to fly him out here next weekend" Norman replied.
"That would've great just us dudes walking around Boston. We got that convention though too next Saturday right?"
Norman nodded. "Yeah gonna have so many fucking fans there I love it! Maybe I can bring Mingus with me I mean I want to spend as much time as I can with him when he comes here".
"Five more minutes guys and we will resume shooting the scene" one of the producers called out to Norman and Sean. They were shooting a scene in the bar but the person that was supposed be there had passed on. He was a great mother fucker, Gerard. It was wierd for them both to not have him on set. Instead the crew replaced him with another man. A new Irish bartender that would do the part.
Norman shrugged his shoulders back towards the commotion inside. "We should go back I'm done with this anyway" he said and headed back inside. Sean nodded and followed him back in. Little did they notice the small group of women crowding around a makeshift security gate out back gawking at both of them the whole time and watching them disappear behind the thick black bar door. It definitely felt nice for both men to be back in the city again filming this great sequel...

I decided I would go out for a beer later that Friday night and meet up with the single friend I had here in Boston. My friends name was Elyse whom I met from my Pop Culture class. She was a typical Irish girl with copper red hair and bright sea glass eyes. She was the opposite of me and extremely out going.
I texted Elyse and told her where I was at the Bell in hand on Union street in Boston. My phone buzzed with a text back saying she would be there in 5 minutes because she was waiting for the next train on the Green line to arrive to take her to Government center. From government center it was a short walk to Union, about 5-10 minutes.
"Ok sounds great! See you soon" I replied back and slipped my phone back in my jeans pocket. I pulled my jacket close and lit a fresh cigarette and took a inhale.
Tonight was just too cold and I wanted to just get in somewhere warm than stand in the Boston cold waiting for Elyse. I pulled out my phone again. "I'm going to head inside its cold out and I want a drink. Let me know if you want something I'll buy before you get here".
"Ok thanks you don't have to though!"
"No I insist" I texted back. I headed into the dimly lit bar while shoving my phone back into my pocket and showed the bouncer my ID and he motioned me inside. "Too cold for a pretty lady like you" the bouncer flirted. I just smiled and eyed for a seat for both me and Elyse near the bar.
From there inside the bar I waited for Elyse and expected to see her at any minute. Any Minute seemed like forever...
