CHAPTER TWENTY TWO
It was the next week and Audrielle had spent a couple of her days with Leo at his office. Audrielle was very shy at first, but on the third day, people loved her and she felt like she was finally making friends like Marcus, Leo's personal assistant. When Leo couldn't do lunch with her, Marcus would join her and they would explore the cafe's that North Carolina had to offer.
Audrielle sat quietly at the dining table with Leo, Christian and Emma. This morning Christian and Emma had flown back from visiting Los Angeles for the week. Audrielle was shocked to see them back when she woke up this morning to grab some coffee and Christian was sitting at the dining table by himself.
Ever since then, Audrielle tried to steer clear of him and not get in his way.
"Audrielle, did you enjoy Italy?" Christian suddenly asked after he took a sip of his soup.
Audrielle looked up from her plate and with the warmest smile she could fake, she replied, "I did, it was very beautiful, thank you."
Leo smiled and kissed his wife on the cheek while he rubbed small circles on her thigh.
"That is good to hear. What about any grandchildren yet?" Christian couldn't help but ask.
"Father."
"I'm sorry son, it's that I would love to see some grandchildren and with both of you having genes like that, your kids will be truly beautiful and I want to be able to see them grow up as you never know how much longer I have left on this earth." Christian explained.
Leo decided to keep the piece and not bite back. He knew why his father wanted them to have grandchildren so badly but Audrielle didn't. She didn't know what was written down onto the contract that her ancestors signed many years ago.
"I would also like to have a discussion about the business after dinner with you Leo. In the office." Christian said and Leo nodded.
Everyone ate their dinner in silence and it wasn't until Emma decided to leave that Christian thought now would be the best time to have the discussion. Leo and Christian both stood up at the same time, leaving Audrielle sitting there as she quietly read a book she picked up last week while shopping.
When Leo and his father got to the family office, Christian closed the door behind him and walked straight over towards the mini bar, pouring two glasses of vodka.
"Take a seat my boy, we have very important things to discuss." Leo did what he was told and took a seat on the leather chair opposite of his father.
"You need to hurry up Leo. This contract is strictly business here. You're not going to fall in love and catch feelings for this girl so you miles well speed up the process. Get the girl pregnant and we get our half of their business. We get more money."
"Dad, I understand but I don't want to have children with her and not be able to have her trust." Leo explained, running his fingers through his hair.
"Here's the thing, tomorrow afternoon you'll be flying out to Tokyo to that business meeting. You'll be spending five days over there. She is not to go. She will stay back here at the house with me and I will teach her how to become the perfect wife. She will have to adjust into understanding how cruel this place can be. I will put terror in her and all you have to do is when she gets back, she'll run into your arms and never let you go because she will trust you. One week later; she's pregnant and in nine months time, you'll have your first child.sat in her seat, finishing off her dinner.
