"TWO more beers." Renfri ordered, and the beady eyed man delievered the large glass of ale at her demand instead, leaving with a brief glare afterwards. Edith couldn't help but laugh, but Geralt stared at the woman blatantly.

Renfri sighed at his retreating figure, standing with a cup of ale in her hands as she passed Edith and approached the Witcher from behind her, "More and more, I find monsters wherever I go."

Edith glanced at Renfri from the corner of her eye and couldn't help the brief twitch of her eye as Renfri's gaze failed to stray from Geralt's figure, "Sounds fun, I'm sure." Renfri seemed rather nice but as far as Edith was concerned she was a stranger whose men attempted to string them up with a rope moments ago, God forbid Geralt had forgotten.

They stayed interlocked in an intensive stare as Renfri began pouring more ale into Geralt's glass. Edith moved in her seat awkwardly, as if she was somehow interrupting the pair in whatever moment they were heaven. Gods, please let the ground swallow me whole.

"How much coin for your kikimora, then?" The young girl had broken Edith's uncomfortable atmosphere, and she couldn't help but grin thankfully. The girl noticed this and mirrowed a grin of her own, which Geralt and probably Renfri had noticed. He shared a final glance with Renfri, before signalling Edith it was time to go with a move of his head. Thank the Gods.

As they moved away, Edith couldn't help but question, "Do you like her?" Geralt ignored her and Edith frowned in the rude response. Annoying white haired prick couldn't even give the decency of an answer.

The young girl gazed at the pair from over her shoulder, a joyful mood present as they moved towards the tavern entrance, "I killed a rat this morning with my breakfast fork."

Edith frowned, "Why would you do that?"

"Stabbed it in its fat little gut because it was scittering all across the kitchen like it owned the place," The girl seemed happy with her achievement, a large smile plastered across her face, "My mother nearly fainted, but what was I suppose to do? It had been shitting in our pantry for days." Edith couldn't help but grin.

"Why not chase it out instead?" Edith questioned, and she saw the girl shrug her shoulders without a care in the world or a second thought from her slightly disturbing actions.

"Well, whats the fun in that!"

"There are other ways to have fun, you know."

"Not in Blaviken, there isn't." The girl deadpanned, and Edith couldn't be assed in giving another reply. Geralt walked slightly infront of them as they walked the small distance towards Roach, the sound of the tavern's music briefly filtered in the background. Geralt's indifference remained as an impenetrable wall, watching the young girl approach Roach and the creature dripping the horrid black substance onto the floor in a puddle.

"You mentioned coin?" Geralt rasped.

"Yes," the girl looked back at her two companions, "Isadora said you were looking for my father."

Edith nodded, "If your father is the alderman, then you would be correct, kid."

The girl frowned at her, "I'm not a kid actually." Edith couldn't help the short laugh from escaping, but the girl continued anyway, "She's a gossip, you see. Probably went two steps into the Lord's Inn before she was running off telling everyone an evil Witcher had arrived." Her hand lifted the dirty piece of cloth covering the creature, and Edith pushed down a gag in disgust. Not only did it look horrid, the smell highlighted the rotting state of the creature. Gross. The girl seemed to observe Geralt for a moment, eyes flickering up and down without an inch of fear.

"You don't scare me." She proclaimed, and Edith snorted.

"He's more like a soft teddy bear than a scary Witcher, but he is still a massive prick." The girl smiled at her in response, and Geralt glared at Edith in annoyance. Edith raised her shoulders as in a fake innocence, and a small smirk adorned Geralt's face.

"That's too bad." Geralt responded as the girl continued her observation on the vile creature Edith so desperately wanted to be rid of. Her hands lifted multiple pieces of fabric, but she was not deterred.

"And I can also tell you," she began, shoulders shrugging once she was finished, "that my father will have no use for his beast." Edith wanted to shout in disappointment. Hell, she couldn't care less if they dumped the beast on the side of the road anymore, as long as the stench was removed, but Geralt didn't contain Edith's same want.

No, of course he didn't as he wanted the coin.

I'm so excited for Edith to meet Jaskier lmao that will be a complete cluster fuck for Geralt
