HIKARI

I can feel his presence.

Soras here again, and hes looking for me.

Part of me wants to go to him, but the other wants me to stay away knowing I'll get attached. Then again, when is it can you meet one of your favorite characters?

Giving in for now, I decided to go find him. Knowing how he is, he won't stop until he finds me so might as well go to him. It didn't take long to pinpoint his location, I appeared not too far from him from behind and seeing him look around frantically while calling out my name.

After watching for a little longer, I called out his name. On cue, he turned around and once his eyes landed on me he smiled so brightly.

I found myself staring at him in awe, and my heart fluttered at the sight of his smile. He looked really happy to see me, which made me feel warm inside. Sora ran to me and greeted me, I greeted him back.

Sora and I talked for a while. We stayed at the same place since it was kinda useless to walk around when everything looked the same. I got to know Sora more on a personal level, I guess? Sure he told me stuff I would already know when he was just a video game character, but there were some stuff not mentioned that he told me.

It was kinda awkward for me to be around him at first, since he came out so friendly it was almost overwhelming. I've never experienced talking to someone else besides family so it was all new to me. I even sat a bit far from him until he coaxed me to sit closer to him.

It was pretty funny.

Just imagine a shy, awkward and flustered girl try to get close to a boy. As if she were a bunny.

I wasn't really good with conversations either, so, it was mostly Sora doing all the talking. He said he didn't mind I didn't speak too much, he was just glad I was here with him. When he said that, it made my heart flutter again.

"Does it ever get lonely for you here?" Sora asked out of the blue. He looked around with a small frown on his face. "Sure its pretty, but, its so empty. I wish there was a way I can keep you company...I feel bad I would leave just to come back all the time."

"I'll be fine, Sora." I tried assuring him. "Besides, I do have you to keep me company. I don't mind if I have to wait for you to arrive."

"But...what if something goes wrong and I can't come back?" He rebutted, sounding a bit broken. "I'll never see you again."

"Hey." I placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm not going anywhere and if anything did happen, well, I'm glad I met you."

"Why are you sounding like you're saying goodbye?" Sora turned and looked at me in the eye, sadly. "As if..."

"Sora." His eyes trailed off to the ground, I had to lift his head up with me pushing up his chin. "It never has to be a goodbye, think of it more of 'I'll see you again' type of thing." Next thing I knew, Sora was becoming hazy again, signalling it was his time to go. "Talk about timing."

His eyes snapped to himself and he began spazzing out. "Not again! I just got here!"

I giggled, whereas he didn't stop. "There's always another time." I gave him a small smile. "I'll be waiting."

"Wait, here." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a seashell. I handed it to me and I took it from his outstretched hand.

"For me?" I asked.

Sora nodded. "Yeah, think of it as a gift from me. Do you...like it?"

I felt a bit nostalgic when I saw the seashell look like the iconic one Xion left Roxas when he was asleep. It was so pretty!

"I love it, thank you Sora." I thanked him earnestly, holding the shell close to myself.

"That's good." He said, relieved. He was beginning to look more transparent now, which means he was leaving any second. "I'll be back before you know it!" As he said that, he was gone.

I stared at the empty space in front of me, suddenly feeling cold and empty. The shell in my hands felt heavy, weighing down on my lap. I stared at the pretty shell, inspecting it and turning it over. Then, I held it up to my ear and heard the faint sound of an ocean. Closing my eyes, I envision the shores of Destiny Islands.

Maybe I could---no. It's not my place to meddle. I've already done enough. Yet, I just can't help but want a place of my own.

A place to call home.

I've already abandoned my previous life, now I'm more or less a wandering spirit.

But I don't regret it, if it meant he was happy.
