HIKARI
I sat idly on the...floor? I don't know what to call it, it looked like water and ripples appear whenever I interacted with it. I gently poked it with what arm I have left, glancing slightly at the nearly disappearing arm. At this point, only a numbing pain was there and I kinda gave up trying to figure out what was happening.
But somehow every time I tried to give up mentally, a voice in the back of my head tells me not too. What makes it even more odd was that the voice sounded like a males.
Their voice, however, was muffled but something tells me I know who that voice belongs to.
Yet whenever I try to, a sharp ache pierced my head.
Shaking my head, I lied down on my back so I was staring upward to the sky. It seems time has passed because the color looked like twilight. I let out a sigh, squinting my eyes a bit. To pass my boredom I tried to see if I can spot any shapes in the clouds.
A crown.
A key.
A...star-shaped looking fruit?
My eyes widened as I let out a yelp of pain, clutching my head with my hand. I felt my eyes tear up as I try to blink them away, their shouldn't be a reason why I would cry. I'd like to say because of the pain but it's something else.
The moment my eyes laid on that last cloud, I felt something click into place.
"S—Sor—"
"Do you wish to see him again?"
—
SORA
"S—Sor—"
I opened my eyes and saw myself surrounded in nothing but darkness. I swear I heard a voice just now trying to call out to me but it sounded so far away.
That's weird, I remember talking to Ienzo yet here I am. I don't remember falling asleep or anything, did I? I don't know.
"You want to save her, dont you?"
Huh? This time this was a voice I don't ever remember hearing.
"Even at a price?"
Who? Wait, are they talking about Hikari?!
"Who are you?" I calmly yell out into the open. "What do you want with me? What do you want with Hikari!"
"I don't want anything, she wanted this for herself. So tell me, why do you go so far for her?"
"Because—because I care."
"You care enough for someone you just met?"
"So? It doesn't matter how long I've known her, I already feel connected with her."
"If that's the case, would you like to see her again?"
I paused, thinking over what the voice just said. I already knew what I wanted to say but the words won't come out! Come on me, say the words!
"I—I do." Suddenly, a bright light appears and engulfs me. I shielded my eyes with my hand, but the light was too bright that I had to close them. Once I was sure the light was gone—I was back at that world again!
Immediately I looked around to find a familiar place, but she wasn't there. So, I began running mindlessly trying to find her. My heart was beating erratically not being able to find her. I felt myself frown as I kept running, running, and running aimlessly. Everything looked the same but all I'm trying to do is find one person!
I stopped running and cupped my hands around my mouth. "Hikari!" I screamed, stopping to listen for a couple of seconds. "Hikari! Hey! Hikari!" I kept screaming her name over and over again but no response came, after how many times I called her name.
"Who are you? Why do you keep calling my name?" A voice not too far in front of me responded. I snapped my head up in alarm, looking at the person in front of me.
There she stood.
"Hikari!" I smiled, taking a step forward to her but she took one back instinctively. "Hikari?"
"I don't—I don't know who you are." She told me, making me freeze in place, so it wasn't a dream that she told me she didn't know who I was?
"Wh-What do you mean? It's me, Sora!" I told her, placing a hand over my heart. "Don't you remember all the times we talked? We're friends, aren't we?"
"Sora...?" I heard her mumble in the quietest tone. "You're Sora?" Just then she appeared the be in pain as she gripped her head, stumbling backwards. I immediately ran towards her and gripped her upper arms in a gentle grip but she kept thrashing to get away from me.
"It's okay, you can stop now." I whispered to her in a soft, gentle tone. "I'm right here, Hikari."
As if a switched flipped inside her, she stopped thrashing in my arms and stood there idly. Just when I though I did something wrong she started crying. I let go of her and used one hand to cup her face while I used the other to wipe the tears away.
Then out of nowhere, she hugged me!
My body tensed up for a second but immediately relaxed as I felt her hug me tightly. I heard the faintest sound of her sniffling but I decided to not say anything about it. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her back just as much.
"How can you forget about me like that? I'm a little hurt y'know?" I told her jokingly, but a part of me was a little hurt that she did in fact forget about me.
"I'm sorry, I—I don't know what happened. It's just as if something wiped my memory clean of you." She told me, but then I remembered something.
Not to sound weird or anything, but I feel both of her arms wrapped around me—shouldn't I feel only one of them?
Pulling back just a little, I took a glance at her arms and my eyes widened.
They were both there.

Hey! Sorry for the long update, I got caught up in work and had time off to spend time with family. Ever since one of my brothers moved out I haven't seen him or his new house so I've been hanging out with him and the rest of my family.I've been seeing the comments left for this story and I'm quite surprised at how some of you acted. Not like it's a bad thing or anything! I'm glad some of you are liking this, so, I decided to write up an update!
