SORA

Suddenly Hikari was ripped away from me and floating in the air---no, it looked like something was holding her there. She appeared to be struggling with whatever was holding her back and when I tried to move forward I couldn't!

Something was holding me back too!

I tried with all my might to get myself to move, or any part of my body. Some force was holding us down and separating us. Just then, a bright light lit up the entire room and my first instinct was to call out to Hikari.

"Hikari!"

"Sora!"

It was a little over a second until the light went away and I didn't feel like I was being held back anymore. Hikari stood in the same position and appeared to be free from the invisible force like I am. She quickly made her way to me and gripped one of my hands with hers. Her touch made me feel funny in the inside, where my heart was. What was this feeling?

"Sora, what's going on?" Her voice made me snap out of it and look around us. This looked a lot like the white room in the abandoned mansion in Twilight Town, but at the same time it wasn't.

"Just how far are you both willing to go for each other?" A voice filled the room, but there wasn't anyone else but Hikari and I. "Even if it costed you, will you still proceed?"

Wait a minute, that voice was starting to sound familiar.

"She came on her own accord in exchange for something, yet you persist to save her? When she saved you from your fate?" What were they talking about? I glanced at Hikari from the corner of my eye who looked troubled.

"Hikari?" I called out to her. "Do you know what they're talking about?"

She bit her lip, avoiding to look at me in the eye for a minute. "You have a special power Sora, and you used it in a way that costed you your...life." How did she know about that? "You weren't supposed to come back, yet you did. Did that ever cross your mind?" Ienzo's words replayed in my head.

----

Ienzo looked at me with a look I couldn't decipher. "You weren't suppose to come back in one piece Sora. The damage you did trying to bring Kairi back would've been too great for you, as Mickey said." He showed me a paper with numbers and stuff, but what caught my attention was the diagram revolving around me, especially my heart.

"You mean...I'm not supposed to be here?" I lifted a hand to my heart. "I'm suppose to be---gone?"

"Unfortunately yes." He answered. "But don't get me wrong, Sora. We are all happy you're back alive and in one piece. It just seems that there's a slight unbalance."

"Unbalance?"

Ienzo nodded. "Yes. When that girl showed up, it caused a slight unbalance. A tear, you could say." He opened his mouth to continue but looked hesitant. "It seems whatever brought her here, is going to bring her back or---" He closed his mouth and pursed his lips together.

"What is it? Come on, it can't be that bad." Yet I couldn't help but shake the feeling off that whatever he's going to say is gonna be really bad.

"Or she's taking whatever was suppose to happen to you, Sora. She's taking your end of the deal." Ienzo finished.

----

She was disappearing...because of me. I wasn't suppose to come back yet here I am, in one piece while she was suffering...while I could've been the one to suffer.

"It seems you know." Her voice seemed distant, yet she stood right next to me. "If it meant your happiness Sora, my sacrifice would be worth it."

"No." I shook my head, letting go of her hand. I faced her and gripped her upper arms. "No, this isn't how it was supposed to go." My eyes met hers and my heart dropped seeing tears prick her eyes. "How can I be happy when you're not there with me?"

One by one, a tear fell from her eyes. She tried to muffle her sobbing but it came out anyway. "How can you care so much for a nobody like me? I don't even exist!"

My jaw tightened and I tried to ignore my watery eyes. "You're here, aren't you? You do exist while you still can!" I pulled her towards me, embracing her. "It's not fair."

"Life is never fair, even when you want it to be." Hikari spoke, gently embracing me back. "I really...am glad I met you Sora. I'm glad I got to meet you while I could. You really are...the light in my inner darkness."

She began to pull away but I didn't let her, I kept my grip on her. Shaking my head, I held on tighter.

"Sora, you're gonna have to let me go. I did this for you, shouldn't you be happy?" Her voice cracked and I can imagine she was trying hard to not break down. "You can finally---be happy."

"I'm not happy though. I want you to stay with me, please?"

"You're going to have to make a choice." It was the voice again. "Only one of you can leave, while the other has to stay...or there is another choice."

Hikari and I pulled away as I looked at the head of the table. "That would be...?"

"Neither of you can leave."
