THIRD

Just as Sora was about to reach out to her, he was gone in a blink of an eye. Hikari stared at the empty spot where he once stood, before breaking down and crying.

She fell to her knees and let out a broken cry, hugging her transparent arm to herself. Tears fell one after another down her cheek and hitting the watery ground, each teardrop making a tiny ripple.

Her heart was aching, a lot. Is this the sadness she's been holding back this whole time? As she pulled her arm back to inspect it, she expected it to be whole again but the transparency kept going down her arm in a very slow pace.

Eyes wide, she gingerly placed her other hand on it only for it to go through as if nothing was there.

"Am I already running out of time?" Hikari said to herself, setting down her arm. "It felt like it was just yesterday..."

With Sora....

Sora sprung up in a jolt, gasping for air. Beside him was Ienzo, who was analyzing Sora's body state. Ienzo jumped in alarm but was extremely relieved that the brunette has awoken.

"Thank goodness you're awake Sora." He expresses his happiness to his friend. "We were getting worried that—" The male was interrupted by Sora placing his hands on his shoulders, his eyes looking frantic.

"You have to take me back Ienzo!" Sora yelled frantically. "Please, just take me back!"

"Sora, what do you mean?" Ienzo was confused. "Take you back where?"

"I have to go back, Ienzo." Sora let go of the male's shoulder and sat back down in a slump. "I have to go see her again..."

'Her?' Ienzo thought. 'So this is about the girl he's been seeing in his dreams. Ven has told me about that.'

"I'm afraid I can't do that Sora. Are you aware that you've been asleep for more than a week now? You gave us quite the scare when you wouldn't wake up." He told the keyblade wielder.

Shock was shown all over Sora's face. "I was asleep for—a week?"

"Almost two." Ienzo added.

Sora looked down at his hands that rested on his lap. He closed and opened them numerous times, before lifting his head with a determined expression. He jumped off whatever he was sleeping on and bolted out of the place. But not before thanking Ienzo for looking after him.

"Wait! Where are you—"

"Sorry, gotta go!" And with that Sora has left the area.

. . .

Sora bursted through Yen Sid's door.

Said person sat there calmly, as if bursting through his door was a normal thing.

"Ah, it is good to see you've awoken Sora." Yen Sid greeted him. "We were all worried that you might never wake up."

"Master Yen Sid." Sora straightened himself as Yen Sid nodded at him to continue. "There's someone—a girl—that I'd like to help but I don't know how."

"A girl, you say?"

Sora nodded. "Yeah. While I was 'asleep' and 'dreaming' I was with her the entire time. You see, I only see her when I go to sleep." He stopped to think about what to say next. "I want to bring her into the real world."

"Impossible."

"What?" Sora looked at the man in alarm. "But—"

"What you seek is impossible Sora. You can't just bring something from a dream to life. They need a heart and body. Where do you think we can find those, hm?" Yen Sid responded.

"Well, we have the replicas!" Sora rebutted.

"Then what about her heart?" Yen Sid fired back. "Where will you get it?"

"I—!" He's got him there, he hadn't thought about that. "I'll find a way! I did for Kairi!"

"But at a risk. It's a miracle and mystery that you came back to us alive and well, we don't want that to go to waste for one simple girl."

"She's not just a simple girl!" Sora was fuming in the inside. "She's my friend and I'm not just gonna stand by and let her disappear forever!" His eyes began to water and he slowly fell to his knees. "I lost a friend once, I'm not going to lose another a second time. Not when I can do something about it."

Yen Sid let out a heavy sigh, in his mind he knows that the boy in front of him will never give up so easily. "There is a way...but it might not work."

Sora lifted his head up and stood up. "What is it? I'll give it a try!"

Yen Sid thought about it for a minute. "She needs to wish for it in order for it to come true; as in, she must have the resolve to live rather than to fade away to nonexistence. Something tells me that this girl had something to do with you not fading away after you tried to bring Kairi back."

"Got it!" But Sora realized what he said at the end. "What do you mean by she might be the reason I'm still here?"

The retired keyblade master shook his head. "You need to ask her yourself, after all, doesn't her appearing out of nowhere right after you came back bringing Kairi interest you?"

'That is true.' Sora thought. 'Right after I disappeared in front of Kairi, the next I found myself washed up on the islands. It looked like a day has passed.' Humming to himself, he thought harder. 'Then just before I came to, I remember seeing a figure standing in the waters of the Final World but her back was towards me. Could that have been Hikari?'

He snapped out of it once he realized he was lost in thought. "Hehe, sorry!" He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Anyway, thanks for the tip Master! I'm gonna go save her!" With a smile, he dismissed himself and left the room.

The moment the door closed, Yen Sid had a deep frown on his face.

"This could either end well or not."

——
Ooh, what's going to happen now??? I just wanted to say a quick thank you for those who are reading this book. I feel like it started out rough but I'm slowly smoothing things out.

The story may or may not be ending in a couple of chapters but I will be doing an epilogue! Which may or may not be broken into parts, to keep the story going.

Until next update!
