For the next several days, Xia Yao devoted his time to taking care of Yuan Zong.
High and mighty as a young master he was, Xia Yao monitored each details of Yuan Zong's daily routine. Ordinary routines aside, cleaning his body was another exhausting thing to do. Yuan Zong liked cleanliness and he'd be upset if he was unable to clean his body; but Xia Yao couldn't do so until midnight when Xia Yao's mom had already left and the doctors had taken a rest.
If Yuan Zong ever were to shed tears out of gratitude and said thanks to him, Xia Yao would have found it worthy to in love with him again in the next life. However, the man never so much as expressed a hint of gratitude. He didn't seemed touched at all, nor did he stop ordering Xia Yao around like a mother to a son. He took Xia Yao's errands for granted.
Xia Yao remained enthusiastic within the first few days. When mother Xia had left, he would start his routine at around 3 AM.
He'd patiently clean Yuan Zong's body using two cotton towels and a bucket of warm water. Yuan Zong's body would be thoroughly cleaned and massaged front to back, including his ears. Xia Yao would carefully lifted his arms and legs to wipe down every inch of his body.
"Clean this area...This side as well...Do you need me to teach you how to clean it?...."
Yuan Zong would normally point his fingers while blabbering relentlessly, and Xia Yao couldn't do anything but to bear with it. It was his fault that Yuan Zong ended up in hospital anyways, so he needed to control his temper.
Yuan Zong had been making a fuss for the past few days. Xia Yao, as usual, managed to stay calm for the sake of the patient Yuan Zong was. One day, Xia Yao was woken up by Yuan Zong's cough at 2 AM only to hear a request, "Clean my body for me."
