"And put the carpet right there with this coffee table on the top of it." Joan instructed Frankie and I, as we were carrying the big carpet to be placed in the living room.

It took most of the rest of the day and throughout the evening to get the whole apartment set up including getting the furniture together, moving some old furniture to the trash and moving furniture around.

There were a lot of pillows on my new couch now with a comfortable set off plaids to keep warm. Lots of candles as well, but it made it look so cozy. Ariana was obsessed with the candles.

Once everything was set up, Joan and Frankie dropped to the new couch and put their feet up on the coffee table. Ariana had already been sat on the couch while Frankie and I were finishing placing things earlier.

"Seriously. Thank you. You have no idea what all of this means to me. I don't even know where I would start making up for all this." I started to get a bit emotional.

Ariana stood up from the couch and went up to me. She pulled me into a tight hug.

"Sheesh, you two get a room." Frankie teased and I could only blush.

Ariana clearly ignored her bigger brother while I saw Joan smiling at the both of us hugging.

"You're the one who has no idea how much meeting you has impacted my life. I could never express how grateful I am for what you've done for me, so this is nothing. I don't want you to make up for anything."

And this is when I realised that this was not about money to her. She didn't care at all about it. I had given her something money couldn't buy. I had given her genuine care and attention.

I had the biggest urge to kiss her right there and then, if it hadn't been for Joan and Frankie.

"Like I told you before, as long as you keep my daughter happy, we won't have a problem here." Joan said in a mafia gangster type of way. I laughed but still struggled to swallow my own saliva due to the lump in my throat from the thought of ever getting on Joan's bad side.

"Suddenly my phone alerted me of a message. I looked at it and saw Michael's name pop on the text message.

I suddenly went pale. Michael only texted when something was really wrong. He valued each of our privacy and free time so when he texted it was either urgent or bad.

The three of them threw me a quizzical look.

"What's wrong?" Ariana's voice broke the moment of silence. I didn't reply and opened the message and read it.

My heart sank. I closed my eyes. Ariana took the phone out of my hand and after reading it she looked into my eyes, trying to find out what was going through my head. She looked absolutely scared.

I didn't even know what I was feeling. I was happy because I got full days with Ariana now but at the same time, this was my job. I needed this to get by and had worked so hard for it.
