We had spent most of the evening listening to music.

She had showed me some of her favourite songs and insisted I showed her some of mine. I think she was flattered when I showed her one of her songs as being in my top 10 all time favourite songs and even called me a dork for it.

We were both content being cuddled up into each other and after hours of music and getting to know each other more, while stroking her hair, she fell asleep and eventually so did I.

I woke up feeling a back and forth stroking motion on my arm. I opened my very sleepy eyes to see Ariana silently looking at me and smiled when my eyes met hers.

"Good morning Popeye." She smiled and teased me playfully.

"Excuse me?" She laughed at my reaction and couldn't help but smile at her laugh before continuing.
"Being called by the name of an old half-blind sailor is not exactly what I had been hoping to hear first thing in the morning." I said chuckling at her remark.

"It will be from now on. We're going to have to do something about your snoring." Ariana said laughing as I was blushing and covered my face in absolute embarrassment. She continued laughing as she buried her head in the crook of my neck.

My arms instinctively wrapped around her and she let out a sigh. I was a bit concerned.

"Everything okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah. I'm just happy." She said and I could feel her smiling. It melted my heart to know that she was at ease here with me. For a split second it felt like the whole world remained still and we would remain like this forever. No worries, no obligations, nothing that could ruin this moment.

"I was thinking about your job..." Ariana trailed her sentence

Time unpaused and here came my worries again.

"Why don't you come work for me?" She asked, simply yet it caused a whole storm in my brain.

"Technically, I'm not fired. Just got suspended." I felt like I had turned her down. Think she took it that way too as she remained silent.

"I mean, I really appreciate the offer, but what could I possibly work as? I have absolutely no knowledge of the music industry whatsoever. I'm not close to being a musician or dancer, or even a sound engineer or anything like that." I knew I was overlooking other more adequate possibilities for me.

"You could be my personal assistant." She offered very casually.

"You kissing and falling asleep with your personal assistant would not be very professional."

She bust out into a fit of laughter. I was not entirely amused, but her laughing and smiling were extremely contagious and couldn't help but join her.

"What happened to the self proclaimed rebel that was pinning me against the bed yesterday before we got rudely interrupted? Here you are worried about seeming professional?" I blushed really hard, remembering how we had almost slept together.

I remained silent but I think she was expecting an answer as she looked at me very intensely.

"Ari, think we should just see what happens with my job first and take it from there." Her lips fell into a frown, but in a split second formed a faint smile again.

"Okay babe. But you're still not going to work any time soon." She said, I expected there to be something that would follow so I did not interrupt.

"So, fly back to New York with me for a bit."

This girl could say the simplest of words and still got me feeling fucked up. My heart exploded into butterflies at the fact that she wanted me around her wherever she went.
