Shade Of The Maple Tree

Black tears
Falling down
Staining her face
She tried to hide her pain
A fake smile
A satin gown
Swore she wouldnt commit
She swore she wouldn't love him
But she's here
letting all these tears fall
Black tears staining her pretty face
Everyone crying now
Her tears falling black
They lay him in the ground
Forever there to rest
Beneath the shade of the maple tree
A little girl maybe six or so
Playing with the only family she still knows
Climbing to the top seemed so fun
Being closer to heaven
She felt safe
Beneath the shade of the maple tree
Young couple on a date
Laying under the shade of the maple tree
Thinking of the future
Planning a wedding
What the future holds
Old man walking home
Missing his wife
Passing the maple tree
White lilies growing under the shade
He picks a couple to take to her grave
Beneath the shade of the maple tree life flourishes
Love grows
Pain is felt
Shade of a maple tree
