It wasn't to long after she had finished cleaning up the wounds and giving him something for the poison did Triss finally appear. Worry etched into those brilliant green eyes, which were currently glassy, like she was trying so hard not to cry, guilt because she knew that she should have been here sooner, and fear, fear that Geralt could die.Shaking her head the red haired woman soon ran over and started to add ointment and herbs to the infected area's before she focused on healing the gash in his side. "Come on geralt...stay with us now...don't give up." She looked to Selene who was oddly silent, yet she noticed how Geralt had the woman's hand in a death grip while Selene herself simply squeezed in return. "Talk to him."
Selene blinked and looked up confused, "I'm sorry?" "Talk to him...please, I need to focus on the injuries." Selene grimaced, talking was one thing she was pathetic at. And while she had spoken with triss yesterday it was different, she was clipped in replies a bit open in others, but each thing she said was calculated, her silver orbs narrowed a bit before she sighed.
"Geralt...geralt can you hear me?" A low groan was her response. "I know... I... fuck, this is awkward... I'm horrible at this you know." Triss was listening to how Selene spoke and she heard the hesitation, she also heard the worry.
"Geralt, please....just hold on, I promise you're gonna be okay... just hold on a bit longer." Yet another groan graced her ears and she almost looked relieved. Triss however was amazed, Geralt was slowly relaxing at this woman's voice and it became glaringly obvious that he was only listening for her voice and no one else's.
With a soft smile she finished her work before stepping back. "He's all patched up now...thank you...for helping him." Selene looked up and Triss stifled a gasp of surprise.
Selene raised an eyebrow at the reaction and tilted her head unaware of what triggered it. However geralt had finally succumbed to sleep and slowly let go of Selene's hand.
As soon as he did that did she stand up and gather her cloak and swords. "What's with the shock Triss?" Triss blinked before carefully choosing her next set of words. "Your eyes...." "what about them Triss." Now she was annoyed, she hated when people signaled out her eyes. "They're blue."
Selene froze. "What?" That shouldn't being possible, her eyes were pure silver yet she knew, she knew triss wasn't lying. "Here look." And with that triss showed her, her reflection in a mirror and she froze. When was the last time she saw her regular eye color? Was it before the mutations? Or after? Shaking her head she placed her hand against the glass and studied her reflection before her eyes slowly returned to their usual silver color.
"What even caused that?" Was the soft spoken question from Triss. Selene didn't know how to answer that so she remained silent. "Did you....did you still feel your abilities, how you were well...different?" Again no answer and Triss let out an aggravated huff of annoyance."Honestly, can't you say anything?" Selene turned to look at her and crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes narrowed before she glanced over at the sleeping man and that's when it clicked, triss realized right then and there that she didn't want Geralt to know any of this. "I get it. But he's in a deep sleep so please.."
With a sigh Selene simply nodded yes, thus confirming all of the questions Triss asked her. Selene walked outside as triss sighed in relief before following her.
"Wait your coin." "No need, he is to get every last coin along with my suppose share. I did absolutely nothing to earn any of it." Triss wanted to make a smart remark about how did help but she knew it would be unwise. "Very well, thank you for everything, thank you for being kind to him and humoring me and my endless questions." Selene shrugged as she started to walk off. "Wait just one more second please."
She turned to look at Triss a single eyebrow raised. "A few things, one try to see if you can control the color of your eyes and I'll be in touch to see if it's possible." She almost groaned at this. "I'm
not an experiment." "I know this, but if it's possible it makes me wonder, are your eyes stronger then Geralt's or the same."Selene shrugged she probably would try or forget depending on her mood. "Two, Geralt, well he's drawn to you, weather he'll act on it or fight it is another question."
"Hopefully he'll be smart and ignore it like I ignore the pull daily." Triss bit back a smile, leave it to Selene to Wanna be left alone when destiny had already bound this woman to Geralt with no remorse.
"And lastly, thank you again, for giving him all of the coin, gods of Spheres know who or what he will spend it on. After all he had a tendency for well.... sleep. If you know what I mean."
Selene at this point wanted to put her head through a wall, or fight off a kikimora or worse, anything so she could avoid this uncomfortable conversation. "Right, well, that's not any of my business, I'll be on my way now, and don't worry I won't say a peep about him. Hell I won't even look for him after today."
Triss slowly nodded and even though she knew that the two would cross paths again she would let Selene figure this out for herself. "Goodbye Selene Of Vesina, until we meet again in the near future."
Selene paused once more and nodded. "Goodbye Triss Merigold, until we undeniably meet again." The woman smiled and watched as Selene vanished down the road, she could only assume that's where Selene had left her horse, if she had one. And that's what finally made her sigh before she finally followed her. "A moment please."
Finally letting out an aggravated hiss she turned on a Triss intending to curse her out before she saw a beautiful black mare with a silver mane besides Triss, "I wasn't sure if you had one, and traveling on foot is dangerous. So I figured this is how I would repay you." Selene hesitated for all of a moment before she nodded and took the reins from Triss. "You have my thanks." Triss Only nodded before she walked away, leaving Selene alone with her newest companion.
"Alright, how about we call you raven huh girl?" The horse nudged her gently and Selene bit back a smile before she climbed up onto the back and quickly left town.
