9 - Dates

Seokjin's POV

Namjoon is a very intelligent man. I see why Mr Yoongi has him as the department head. He's extremely knowlegeable, not only in our area of expertise but also on many topics of interest. I find myself enjoying our evening together.

My phone starts to vibrate in my pocket and I suddenly recall that I'd promised Jungkook we would meet up. I text him our address so he can pick me up.

"Are you leaving already?" Namjoon seems disappointed.

"I'm so sorry Namjoon but I promised someone that I'd see him tonight. I hope that's okay?"

He makes a pouty face at me which surprises me. But I just smile and gather my phone and coat jacket to leave.

"Is he your boyfriend?"

I'm shocked at his question. It's quite personal really and I don't know him enough to confide in him.

"I really don't think that's any of your business Namjoon. That's personal."

He laughs lightly. "I'm sorry Jin. That was a bit forward of me. I hope you forgive my curiosity. It's just that, I-I find you to be an extremely attractive man." He leans forward and locks his gaze with mine. I'm momentarily taken aback. He's quite bold.

"Urm, thank you for the dinner Namjoon. It was truly..... insightful and I'm looking forward to working with you. But I really have to leave now."

"Can I at least walk you out to your car?"

"Okay, I guess." I'm suddenly not very comfortable with him. He hasn't done anything creepy but I'm just not getting good vibes from him. It's unsettling.

We make our way outside, and stand on the sidewalk. After a few minutes, Jungkook pulls up in his car and I watch as Namjoon's eyes go wide. Maybe he wasn't expecting me to be dating him, I don't really know as he doesn't say anything.

Jungkook gets off and comes to open my door for me. I wave to Namjoon just as Jungkook hugs me tightly and kisses me on my lips. It's a soft and sweet kiss and I blush at his audacity. I should have known he'd stake his claim in front of Namjoon.

"Hi baby." He kisses my fingertips. "How was your completely work related dinner?" He asks innocently.

I smile softly. Jungkook isn't so bad really. He probably would have been a nice boyfriend to have when we were younger, had he not been a complete idiot and done things the right way in the first place.

"It was good. Where are we going Jungkook?"

"I thought we could have a small picnic of sorts on the pier, seeing as how you've already had dinner. Maybe a light snack or dessert perhaps?" He smiles his cute bunny smile at me and I smile back shyly. That's actually not a bad idea.

He drives out to the pier and I'm surprised to find he's already packed a picnic basket with all the essentials we'll need. I watch as he spreads out the blanket with some comfortable scatter cushions and a basket. He surprises me once again by pulling out an RJ plushie and handing it to me. I squeal in delight.

"Oh my! How did you know I love RJ?" I laugh happily and hug the plushie to my chest.

I watch as he smiles shyly. "Well, I saw you had an RJ keyring on your backpack the other day. So I thought I'd get you one. I hope you like it."

"Like it?! I LOVE IT!!! Thank you Jungkook. Come here, sit beside me."

He readily obliges after tossing his shoes to the side. I lean in and place a soft kiss to his lips. It's sweet and innocent and I love how he looks down shyly at me. He's so cute.
