36 - Responsibilities

Taehyung's POV

I think I was falling in love with Jin all over again. As I sat with him at my parents table, I watched his cute smiles and pink tinged ears when he blushed. To say that Kim Seokjin is beautiful, would be an understatement. He is without a doubt, the loveliest person I have ever seen. His skin was soft and glowing now, even more with his pregnancy. His furtive glances to me when he thinks my parents are not watching, just takes my breath away. And I can't believe I'm so blessed to have him give us a child. A miracle in itself.

My mind shifts to my Kookie. I wish he was here. I feel so incomplete without him. I know Jin feels it too. We are definitely not the same without him. It's like, we're an intricate puzzle and he's the missing piece. When I heard Jin laugh at another lame joke of my father's, I took out my phone and texted my Kookie. His almost immediate response warms my heart to no end. He too, is truly an angel in my life.

I never thought that I would love anyone other than my Jinnie but Jungkook had truly stolen my heart. He is the glue that binds us and we are both quite forlorn without him. I know we agreed to not tell my parents about our unique relationship just as yet, but the pretense has been feeling like a noose around my neck all morning. I need to take responsibility for not only Jinnie but also for him too.

"Father," I began, "I need to talk to you both about something else too." Jin's head shot up at that. I know he has been sensing my discomfort and displeasure at keeping Jungkook a secret too.

"What is it son?" My father looked at me curiously.

I reached out for Jin's hand and he smiled at me encouragingly. He squeezed my hand and I felt all my inhibitions leave me.

"Father, mother, .... Jinnie and I are not the only ones in this relationship."

"What do you mean?"

I sighed and held Jin's hand more firmly. "Jin and I are in a polygamous relationship with Jungkook."

"WHAT?" My father looked murderous and my mother just looked blank.

"What do you mean by polygamous Taehyung?" It was my mother.

"It means that he's sleeping with Seokjin and Jungkook at the same time!" My father answered before me and my mother gasped, holding her hand to her chest.

"It's not only sleeping with him father," I said pointedly, "we're in a relationship with him too. We all live together. We're boyfriends and we all want to be together. We love each other equally."

"But how is that even possible?!" My father was incredulous. He threw down his table napkin angrily and pushed his plate away from himself. "He's your cousin Taehyung!"

"No father. He's my second cousin. But that's beside the point. I love him and I love Seokjin."

"Is this true Seokjin? Do you love Jungkook as well?" My father looked at Jin for confirmation.

"Yes sir. I love Taehyung and Jungkook equally. I can't live without both of them." Jin said with conviction and my heart swelled with pride at my baby.

"I don't see how that is possible. It's the first time I'm hearing of such an unconventional thing."

My father looked away, deep in thought. I was happy that after his initial shock, he seemed to be digesting this new development a little better. I didn't expect him to understand or accept it that easily, but I was thankful that he wasn't angered and chasing us out.

"This is all rather strange for me Taehyung. You know I'm a very influential and affluent man. I am respected in society for many reasons and some of those would be my moral and religious principles. I won't lie to you, you know I was disappointed when you admitted to being gay. It was difficult for me to accept. But I did, eventually. And now that you have a boyfriend, I accepted that too after meeting with Seokjin. But this? I don't think I can do that. What will our society think of us? How will I explain this away?"

We were all quiet for a while.

"Why do you have to explain it to society father? This is our private life! It's no ones business!"

"I am the fourth richest man in South Korea Taehyung! I have an obligation to the society I live in and you very well know that after you take over my companies, you will be under the spotlight. Your life will become public property. I have hidden you from that life for as long as I could but the time has come for you to step into my shoes. I'm sorry, but I can't allow it."

My mother was tearing softly and I watched as Seokjin woke up from his seat and went to my mother. He handed her a clean napkin and held her hand soothingly.

"I'm sorry Mrs Kim. This is mostly my fault. Both Taehyung and Jungkook have been in love with me for a long while now but I couldn't choose between them. I realised I needed them both and they too need me. I love them both dearly."

My father watched as Seokjin hugged my mother sincerely. I noticed how his eyes softened when they looked upon Seokjin. I'd never seen my father that way before. I decided to dive in with all my confessions. Might as well get it all out of the way now before he decided to throw us out. So I threw caution to the winds and cleared my throat to get their attention.

They all looked up and their eyes fell on me. I rustled up my courage and began.

"There's actually more father."

He sighed heavily. "What more can there be Taehyung?"

My eyes found Jinnie's and for the first time today, I felt his apprehension. He knew where this was going. I smiled softly at him and turned to my parents.

"Tae. ..... " he shook his head in the negative.

"It's okay baby. I need to do this. We need them to know everything," I reassured him as he came to sit next to me. I knew he wanted to sit in my lap but he couldn't do that in front of my parents.

"Mother ... father .... Seokjin is pregnant."
